Location was really convenient and near city centre - about a 5-8 mins walk (we had young kids). There was parking available for our cars at a cost which was reasonable ($20 for entire stay). Rooms were comfortable and the staff were excellent. Only downside of this was water pressure in the showers aren't fantastic and it can sometimes change to burning hot when you're showering which can be dangerous with young kids. Other than that. I can't fault anything with this place and will definitely stay again if I was back in Queenstown.

This was my first stay in Queenstown and opted for the Copthorne Hotel because of its location, both close to town and right on the lake. I asked for a lake view room and was by no means disappointed - the patio doors in my room opened out onto the grounds with a stunning view of the lake and mountains in the distance!

As I approached the hotel it was clear there was some renovation work going on. The hotel is a little tired and dated so good to see they are upgrading. As a result of the renovation work there was limited parking so I had to park in the road. I was going to be out exploring by car most of the time so this was not a problem. There's plenty of parking in the side roads around the hotel.

The staff were all really friendly and helpful and more than happy to assist and give tips. The hotel is quite large and it might take a bit of time to get your bearings (it did me!)

The room was great - as mentioned the view was stunning. The bed was comfy, with a flatscreen TV and wifi. Elements of the room such as the carpet and windows and curtains were a little tired but nothing really negative to say.

A very spacious room with ensuite, nice and clean with a stunning view - all just a short walk from the town centre. What more could you want?

Our family of three stayed for a night. We were looking for an accessible location within walking distance to town. There was no complimentary parking for in-house guests but street side free parking was available nearby. Due to the terrain, the hotel was uniquely designed and spread out. The staff were helpful in guiding us to our room. We loved the room! It was a corner unit with a great view of the mountains and the lake. The sliding doors even opened to a little garden of sorts. Our stay came with complimentary breakfast. We would return only if we could get the same room again!

Spent 2 nights here either side of a trip to Te Anau and the sounds. Beds were super comfortable. Staff were for the most part very friendly and helpful, especially Vipul on reception who went to a lot of trouble to help us select the exact room to meet our needs, showing us several categories. We picked a room with balcony conveniently located on the same floor as the bar. We arrived just in time for discount cocktail hour 5 to 6 p.m. each night, we enjoyed several cocktails and ate dinner out on the balcony overlooking the lake. The bar staff were humorous and friendly, and made us feel comfortable, especially the one very tall barman whose name I can't remember, he was super helpful with selecting the drinks, lighting my sister's cocktail on fire and having a laugh with us.

Breakfast was pretty good we enjoyed the armchair option, once again overlooking the lake. The breakfast staff were very
efficient constantly filling up our coffee cups and making sure we had everything we needed. I want to suggest perhaps giving guests a pot of coffee or tea to have on their table to help themselves, so the staff don't have to run around so much during current restrictions. It was very cute having the exchange library in the restaurant hallway we thought, so thoughtful for guests dining alone.

The basement car park had convenient elevator access, and the abundance of luggage trolleys made it really easy to move our heavy bags about from car to reception to our room floor.

The hotel was close to beautiful lakeside walks, the botanical gardens and to town. Even though it may not be five-star, we loved it and would definitely stay again.

It was difficult, and perhaps unfair, to judge the hotel because it was covered in scaffolding and had an uninviting, temporary entrance and reception desk. The hotel is very large with separate blocks which are not easy to navigate. Each lift had detailed instructions on which floor was needed for each accommodation area but it was still something of a challenge to find a specific room (and back again). We had the usual international standard of room with a good view of the scaffolding. The complementary oranges were a nice touch but there was no air conditioning and the shower changed from very hot to cold without warning (possibly when others were using hot water nearby). The hotel is quite close to the town centre but up a fairly steep hill so it doesn’t really have location as a saving grace. We did enjoy a good breakfast.

Rang the Copthorne the day before we arrived in Queenstown, got the best deal ever. Accomodation for 2 nights, breakfast included and dinner for 2 adults on one night. Had a beautiful steak meal cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend the cocktails as well. The staff are forever helpful. Another amazing stay.

Pretty average place. The hallways are very old school but that doesn't mean bad. It's quite confusing to get around at first as it's not a straight up and down building, you get used to it though.

I really appreciate the young man who worked at reception, he was the only one who showed friendliness and hospitality out of all the staff that we came across. The only one who started a conversation and asked us about our plans. The asian lady at reception, who I assume was the manager and another blonde receptionist, they weren't friendly at all. You'd think working at reception, you'd be pretty used to asking 'how are you' or even smiling eh?

We tried the breakfast buffet once, I'm not sure who they are kidding trying to price that (very limited) breakfast $27. The options aren't great and quit limited, just go to central and have a real meal. They had a mini oven thing in the savoury section, but was only allowed to toast sliced bread.. What about the croissants and scones, just eat them cold? There is an option for $20 for a buffet that doesn't include hot food. Again, just go to a cafe in central I suggest.

Did not hate our stay though, just some little bits they could work on for the price people are paying to stay there for. The room and beds were comfortable, it had a TV and room service. The room was a decent size and the hotel is in good walking distance to the centre. I still enjoyed my stay here, thank you!

After completing scheduled tour in Australia we reached from Melbourne to Queensland, New Zealand by JETSTAR flight.
The team manager of Thomas Cook received us at Queensland Airport. The vehicle was ready and as we were taken to Copthorne Lakefront Hotel in about 10/15 minutes. In no time the room keys were handed over to respective families. My wife and I liked the hotel, the surroundings, and the room. After keeping our luggage we rushed to the Restaurant just take meal. My wife ordered Cosmopolitan Meal which we liked.
We looked around and viewed the picturesque scene all around the hotel.
The hotel is close to the shores of Wakatipu Lake.
We received free WiFi service during our 4-day stay from 2nd to 5th January, 2020.
In the afternoon we went to City Center which is at a walking distance.
We enjoyed complimentary American breakfast every day.
I was getting lost whenever I viewed the mountain range.
‘Impressions Restaurant’ offers expansive views over the lake and mountain ranges.

We are well impressed with the view and the very efficient and friendly service in this Hotel.
The very large room with space to put down two suitcases was absolutely brilliant.
We have booked the parking for the car as well wich was very convenient. The easy down hill walk to town center only seven minutes walk showed no challenge. The scaffolding over the Reception area didn’t disrupt anything of our stay.
We would stay here again.

I bought a GrabOne deal for a get away for my parents. 2 nights incl cooked beast on both days and dinner on one night. Good stay. Food was nice at dinner and breakfast. When the alert levels changed the hotel responded by changing from buffet to a pa Carte but that didn’t affect the service or quality. Comfy room. Good service. A lovely steak meal for dinner. Rooms slightly dated but everything was functional and adequate.
Overall a good stay and would stay again.
