A very enjoyable stay, unfortunately was not longer. Despite being located quite out of downtown Queenstown, made worse by roadworks when we were there, the location would be handy if you had an early flight or were heading to the ski slopes or to Deer Park Heights, which is just around the corner. Whilst the room does not have views of the main part of the lake or the Remarkables, it provides nice views over the river.
Our room was very comfortable and as it was my birthday coming up, the staff provided lovely handwritten messages, towel animals and a bottle of wine which was much appreciated.
The room was very quiet, easy to access from the car park. There were limited options for eating in the area, so we chose to order from room service, which was quick, tasty and the staff very friendly.
There is a bus stop an easy walk away and also a water ferry that can take you to the main wharf in Queenstown for $14 each way which takes away the stress of trying to drive and park in busy Queenstown

Great hotel for my son (4) & I on our 5 day holiday.
Pros: soundproof rooms are great! You don't hear anything once you are in your room. View from lakeside room stunning. Had the amenities we needed. Great little cafe on the steps to the water taxi that make great coffee. Supermarket is a $25 uber ride away. Close to the airport. LOVE the digital key card. This was so much better than trying to find card in bag! All the staff we amazing. Buffet breakfast great with loads of variety. Beds were comfy.
Cons: it is really far from town & if you are like me & don't hire a car then you need to rely on the water taxi or Uber. Water taxi only goes till 6pm (unless fri/sat/sun) so like us if you're heading to town for dinner, you'll need to uber back which was around $50. Daily room cleaning is done after all the other guests have checked out. We got back to our room at 3pm & still not done. Check with reception who advised it'll be done by 5pm. Asked if we could have our room done earlier daily due to having toddler, which they did for us. Restuarant - Stacks isn't open on a Monday or Tuesday so your options are pretty limited unless you order uber eats. Food at stacks is average. I ordered a pizza which was lacking toppings & flavour. Son had kids cheeseburger which was oozing with to much mayo. No storage for clothes - I.e drawers. We had 2 suitcases & there is only a cupboard so had to put suitcases in lounge on top of each other & grab things out of them.
Beautiful location & accomodation but next time I will probably stay somewhere in town that is walking distance to a lot more amenities.

I used to stay at the Hilton Queenstown but this time I decided to try Doubletree by Hilton which is located just across the road.
Doubletree shares any facilities with Hilton, including gym, spa and swimming pool. I was allocated to Room 323 which is a lake view suite with kitchen and a small balcony. There's a separate living room and a king size bedroom.
The kitchen has all your cooking needs, I.e. plates, cutlery and pots etc, although the microwave wasn't working during my entire 7 night stay.
Overall I have had a wonderful stay. However I have to stress that its housekeeping still needs some improvements. During my stay, housekeeping was always done round 4 or 5pm which caused inconvenience. I have never experienced such late housekeeping during my travelling career. In addition, I had phoned reception for assistance and it went unanswered.
The breakfast was excellent with full spread of hot and cold choices.
In contrast, the Hilton crossed the road is always up to my expectations.

We were prepared for this to be a somewhat budget experience because we didn’t want to pay $700+ p/night at other similar hotels in the area BUT what we got was worse than budget. Shower scum on the walls, mould around the sink that I cleaned off myself, ripped chair, shower curtain that dripped water on the floor, flat pillows and a bed that the springs were poking into my back. The staff removed the soap, didn’t replace towels, forgot to replenish toilet paper and tea bag’s despite that we even asked at Reception. Guess they forgot. Oh and the bed only gets made every 2-3 days. We’ve stayed at a number of Hilton hotels in previous travels and this is seriously the worst by a far margin. Hilton brand you can do so much better.

Love QT!! And the Hilton complex is one of the best places to stay there IMO. Why? Pros: It's very close to the airport but on the OPPOSITE side of the hustle, bustle and traffic chaos of the CBD. I make full use of the water taxi service - which is a spectacular way to arrive in the centre of town - and only costs $14 one way. But this time, I had a first experience with their RYD electric car service which I booked for a fraction of the cost of an Uber- it was perfect for my needs ; Thanks Arpit!! The hotel itself is a classic. All amenities on site- gym, restaturant + excellent breakfast buffet and parking. A black out bedroom with truly the plushest covers ever to sink into at the end of a long day. And I had acces to million-dollar lake and mountain views, and a lakeside trail that ranks up there with the best NZ has on offer although I didn't have enough time to make use of it this trip. Cons: Not many. The flights pass pretty regularly but I think the windows must be sound proof as I heard them really only when the balcony door was open. Kitchen is wee, probably only big enough for 2 max. There is an oven and a microwave though. And I was disappointed I couldn't find a backlight for the bathroom mirror so I had to put on my makeup in the living room where there was natural light. All in all, another fabulous stay and with the weather that weekend, I have a pretty strong feeling I'll be back several times this summer!!

Place is beautifully located and yet not really fit to be more than 2-3 stars and very over priced.
Sadly, I have travelled hilton chain for years.. and this is apart from andover in Mass, US, is probably the worst after paying a premium through a snow festival, no shuttles, expensive additonal charges, singles beds pushed together, we were left with single beds on our first night, coffee service started late, when i asked for HP sauce, it took 30 mins and then when they found another new bottle, mixed it with milk and gave me a bowl that looked like liquid of some weird sorts, then no orange juice, staff attentive but lacking any service... then vending machines in the lobby, didn't work and surprise surprise, the hotel couldn't help..
I certainly will never stay in Hilton again and will be recommending that other steer clear unless its a last resort.

Stayed at the Hilton next door earlier this week, had to book Doubletree as the Hilton was booked for the two additional days I needed. So let me compare the two hotels for you:
Hilton Lakeview rooms are truly lakeside and have nice balconies, Lakeview at Doubletree means you look across a small street at the lake, and you can stand on your balcony, but its too small to put a chair on.
Room is much smaller at Doubletree and amazingly doesn't have a desk, just a couch. Very tiny bath at Doubletree, my rooms at Hilton had very large bathrooms.
Great wifi in both hotels. .
Both hotels have a small mini fridge, Doubletree does have a cooktop if you are so inclined,
You just walk over to the Hilton for the main restaurant or their sports pub.
Yes, you can access the Hilton indoor pool (which is awesome) for NZ$20/day.
If the prices are similar, pick Hilton.

It was our first time in New Zealand and we stayed here it is a great hotel with everything you need, it has a great indoor pool as well as a heated spar, the room we had was great and nice and quiet and on the lower level and opened out onto the water. There was aircon as well as a fire place which was great. We had a hire car so had to pay for parking but it meant we could explore what Queenstown and surrounding areas had to offer. We will be back.

My husband and I stayed here for six nights and would both recommend it and stay again.
Things we appreciated — - Quiet - Cleanliness - A seating area separate from the bedroom and a full kitchen - Proximity to lake and trails (there's a wonderful walk just down the stairs that takes you all the way to the other end of the peninsula; took us three hours) - Staff friendliness especially Sophia at reception and Vati and Tini at breakfast! Vati and Tini were so welcoming and helpful, and ALWAYS working -- that's not an easy job to check folks in, clean, AND make sure the food was stocked. We'd like to vote for both of them for Employee of the Month! 👏🏽 - Complimentary continental breakfast - Hotel channels like ESPN and HGTV (would've loved CNN or BBC) - Use of the gym and steam and sauna at the Hilton - Though it would've been nice if parking was included, we appreciated how easy it was to get in and out, and the easy access the hotel
It's far from the city center but since we had a car, the distance was ok, about an 18 minute drive. I don't know if I'd stay here without a car. The water taxi does come right to the hotel but you have to be on their schedule. If you have a car, DON'T park right outside the front of the hotel, we saw someone get the boot since it looked like they left their car there over night.
I've never had housekeeping that comes so late in the day, around 4pm, so that took getting used to. I've also never HAD to let them in, but every day we hung our privacy sign, they responded back with a "We have a right to come every 24 hours" note. So we had them come in every other day. Not a big deal, just different than we're used to.
Overall, thumbs up! Thank you for a lovely stay. (And please tell Vati and Tini we loved them!)

Very nice hotel, next to the posher Hilton whose premices you can enjoy as well ( covered pool, spa, restaurant, etc). Right on the lake, with an inexpensive water taxi bringing you several times a day to Queenstown in 20 mn. (Regular taxi will take 60nsd. Count an hour by foot.) Our unit, with large bedroom, small living area and kitchenette was pleasant, very clean, quiet and spacious. Staff is very friendly, but Victor at Reception is extremely professional, tireless, and went above and beyond to help us out during our visit. Thank you Victor! We'll be back!

The deal we had did include free parking and breakfast but unless it is included usually no. However there is usually free parking on the street or I think for about $16NZ you can book parking in the hotel. Breakfast prices in the Wakatipu Grill are reasonable.

The times should be listed on a sign if you go down to the waterfront and head to the pier. You just need to walk down the steps to the waterfront and it should be there. There's also a sign in central Queenstown which details all of the times.
From Queenstown, I believe the latest is 9.45pm although there is a 10.45pm one on Friday and Saturday only. From the hotel, I believe the last taxi is 9.15pm.
There are more places to choose from in the Queenstown area.
