Second time back to this hotel because of the stunning lake view and near the Queenstown airport. Booked a King Lake Wakatipu Suite originally, shocked that half of the view has been blocked in which it’s not the same we expected from the photo. Hotel said the photo was reference only and the room view is different on different floor, even on same type of suite. Appreciate if the hotel could make a remark on the suite in advance. Meanwhile, they do have a slow reply for my room change request as I’m not happy with the view, finally got the room change back to a normal room on higher floor. Appreciate the effort by the manager but appreciated if the reception could reply the guest faster and initiate the response, rather than letting a customer to follow up after an hour since the request has been made. It’s quite upsetting and tired as that day the luggage has been lost when going to Queenstown and the room change finally done at night. Having said that, the room was still fantastic. Spacious room, fabulous view and the breakfast and self paid dinner was really good at the grill bar restaurant. Would still back again and recommend this hotel for a luxury stay at Queenstown near the beautiful lake.

Hotel's Favourite
Peaceful setting on the lake makes it a wonderful location for a hotel. Only 5 minutes from the airport. A water shuttle direct to Queenstown picks up in front of the hotel. I used valet parking and my car was always ready when requested. I had two different rooms types during my stay, both were awesome. The Lake Wakatipu Suite which was quite comfortable and nice sized bath and a King room that also faced the lake. Room was clean and no noise from other rooms. Fast reliable wifi. Wakatipu Grill in the hotel served an amazing lamb dish and nice wine choices. Cooked carrots were amazing and tender. For a hotel restaurant this was exceptionally good! Property is a quiet wonderful base for exploring all that the Queenstown area has to offer.

Excellence comes from the ground up and I believe that the senior management team lead by example. I come here regularly for business and am constantly blown away by their attention to detail and their ability to make you feel special. 10/10 The Hilton Queenstown. You are like no other hotel I’ve experienced anywhere in the world!

Another excellent stay at Hilton Queenstown. Location is beautiful, I booked a lakeview room which is right on the lake. Amazing scenery, quiet location. Love the amenities here, great restaurant, fun sports bar, and great pool and spa area. 5 min from the airport and there is a scheduled shuttle boat to downtown from the hotel. So much to like, very warm welcome from the staff. For sure will stay here again.

Amazing location with beautiful mountain views each morning! Comfy beds, great water pressure in the shower, beautiful big tub and a great staff! After long adventurous days, it was great to come back and hit the sauna/steam room and hot tub to relax the body.

Location was perfect as were the views. Located a short drive from the city centre of Queenstown we didn’t have to stay in the midst of it the business of the main part of town. We stayed for 4 nights. Our initial room was very dirty and worn eg dusty, windows filthy, stains on carpet etc . We asked to change. Our new room was much better although cleanliness was not of the standard I would expect. The hotel seemed understaffed and I felt for the workers as they looked run if their feet. Although the buffet breakfast was of quality the staff usually started packing up early and people who came in towards the V latter part of the sitting would miss out. The restaurant food for dinner was overrated. I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again.

This is a nice hotel, but not really anything special. As many others have said, it is not in Queenstown, but across the lake in Frankton. If you want to go anywhere you either drive and hassle with parking or take water taxi which will limit your times to leave and come back. Room was nice, gas fireplace was positive. Lighting in bathroom was inadequate, wife needed to use flashlight on phone to put on make-up. Cleaning of room was hit and miss, they seemed to always skip us or would try to come in at 5:00 pm when we were getting ready for the evening. Lastly, decor in general is dated and in need of update.

Although the hotel has a nice setting and good rooms, it is run like a resort that caters to large groups. This included the restaurant being closed on Saturday evening for a private function (apparently a wedding) during our stay. If you wanted to eat dinner at the hotel, your choice was either a sports bar with pizza and burgers or room service. This was a real inconvenience and unacceptable to us since the hotel is far from downtown and local restaurants. The hotel should have a banquet room for private parties and not block hotel guests from access to their only real restaurant. Parking was also a hassle requiring expensive valet parking for 40 NZ a day or a nearby paid parking lot for 16 NZ a day that was not owned or managed by the hotel.

Stayed 4 night and am a lifetime diamond. Requested an upgrade but received a room with a nice view., requested a room with 2 beds. Instead of king. Small and narrow. Been 40 years that slept in a bed that bad. On daily cleaning never was sure if glassware was cleaned. One day came back and wine glasses never cleaned and water glasses dirty in sink. Expect better of a Hilton brand. Breakfast was congested and had lines to be seated. Another night hotel restaurant was closed to hotel guest due to private event. Unfortunately to eat needed a water taxi or Uber.. also no concierge on property. Guess area is busy with tourists they don’t ned any staff. Front desk was a referral to a web site. Instead had to spend half a day and go downtown to tourists center to book. In Auckland hilton they had a fabulous staff that did an exceptional job and had great recommendations

My family and I stayed here for about a week and had a wonderful time. It was a fantastic stay from the moment we checked in. The service was wonderful and the hotel was nice and clean. It is located right on the lake with easy access to multiple walking trails and a convenient water taxi just steps away from the hotel. We truly had a special and wonderful experience here and will definitely return in the future. Many thanks to Mr. Ehmann and the other wonderful staff for such a memorable experience.  If you're looking for a wonderful stay near Queenstown, we would definitely recommend the Hilton.
