Detailed Reviews
I was visiting Queenstown, New Zealand for the first time and I was a bit nervous due to the low price of this hotel. However on arrival I was very impressed by the service and the room.
I was even very fascinated how you are to use an app on your phone to access your room. Although near the end the app failed and I did have to ask for an electronic key instead. But I am sure that can be improved on.
Also I was a bit worried as it was mentioned to me on arrival that the city's water supply had been contaminated. However the hotel very generously offered mineral water bottles as a substitute as the tap water was not suitable for drinking.
The location of this hotel was also excellent as the lake was only a 5 minute walk away as were other eating and drinking locations. I would definitely stay here again should I ever return to Queenstown

Loved this place! As long as you know what you’re getting for the price, it’s amazing. It does not have all the usual amenities that a hotel would have (fridge, kettle, free parking etc), but as long as you read their website properly and look at the pics beforehand and are not a highly strung person, its great value and a great place to stay. Lovely clean, modern, comfortable rooms, lovely roof terrace overlooking Queenstown, free vending machine for drinks, laundry etc and very centrally located. Much better value than all other hotels in the area due to their focus on necessities and location rather than unnecessary amenities. Most of the negative reviews seem to be from people who didn’t check out the hotel properly beforehand and should have paid more to stay in a hotel that offers all the usual amenities. Would absolutely recommend!

Our stay at Mi-Pad was truly outstanding! The location was perfect—just a short walk to the CBD, making it incredibly convenient to explore the town, waterfront, and all the local attractions.
The accommodation itself was modern, beautifully designed, and well-appointed with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, creating a space that felt both stylish and welcoming, including a coffee machine in the hallway.
What really set this place apart, though, was the staff. From the moment we arrived, they were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with recommendations or any requests. Their warmth and professionalism made our experience even more enjoyable.
If you're looking for a place that combines a prime location, modern comfort, and outstanding hospitality, this is it. Highly recommended, and we would absolutely stay here again!

We booked this hotel before we travelled and it seemed from other reviews that it would be a good place to stay. It was listed as a four star hotel but I have no idea how they managed to achieve that! It certainly wasn’t four star in our opinion or our friends who were traveling with us. The rooms were very small and there was absolutely no storage space. Not even enough surfaces to place bags on. The were next to no facilities in the hotel. No bar, no dining area no parking . There were vending machines on each floor to get snacks and coffee but hardly qualifies a four star rating. Our room over looked a building site so no privacy unless we kept the curtains closed all the time. There was a roof terrace and we went up there once to drink our coffee but ended up with soaked trousers as no one had bother to cover the furniture when it was raining. The only good thing about the room was the lighting which was movement sensitive and it meant that we didn’t have to fumble around in the night to go to the toilet. All in all it was very disappointing.

I enjoyed a very comfortable three night stay here during my brief visit to Queenstown.
The friendly young English receptionist (from Exeter) who checked me in was a constant at the desk during my stay and was always cheerful and good for touristy advice and a chat.
I encountered the housekeeping staff on a couple of occasions too, and they were genuinely cheery and friendly too.
My room, although small, was clean and well maintained. Wifi was good and I liked being able to chromecast my favourite apps on the television. The bed was comfy and the night light, triggered by movement getting in and out of bed, was cool.
The hotel is well located, just around the corner from the Airport bus stop (No. 1 service) and near to the pick up spot on the corner of Camp and Shotover Streets for many of the tours I had booked. There are roadworks outside the hotel at present, but this did not detract from my stay.
The views from the roof terrace were amazing and the little wood fireplace a real plus on the chilly nights.
Highly recommended.

Stayed in a Queen Deluxe which has everything you need.
Bed was comfortable, shower worked well, room was pretty quiet other than the odd bit of noise from some particularly loud guests one eve, check in was easy.
We had some trouble with the app and getting in the room but just asked for a key card which solved that.
Location is great, staff were helpful.
Would definitely stay again

Great location in downtown Queenstown, a stones throw from the airport bus and of course restaurants, supermarkets and tourist attractions. I got a great price for this place and I was very happy.
I had a nice upgrade (for operational reasons) to a mountain view room with breaktaking views. Overall the rooms are modern and comfortable and make good use of the space, e.g the under bed space for luggage etc and a fold down desk.
As a solo traveller the glass bathroom wasn't an issue but I could see it being with a couple. But the water pressure was good and the bathrooms were clean.
There is NO housekeeping at the moment (the front desk agent was doing housekeeping, they are so short staffed and so is most of QT apparently). However I picked up fresh towels from a corridor off the lobby each day and left the dirties in the hallway for the housekeeping to collect. (They were only cleaning changeover rooms, obviously).
All the staff were very pleasant (didn't see much of them, front desk was not manned 99% of the time, again because the staff were off doing housekeeping) and friendly - especially the (Indian?) chap who checked me in.
My criticism/constructive feedback would be to improve the wifi - it is slow and kept blocking my VPN. In addition, the hot drinks machines: most of the time the machines had no cups. In addition the tea and coffee tastes absolutely rank (and I am not a coffee snob!) - although the hot chocolate and soup was fine. My suggestion would be to have some drip filter machines/and hot water dispensers instead or something for a decent quality coffee. (Or just go the girl with the silver coffee caravan near the bus stops, you can see her from the hotel!)

We stayed here for two nights in Queenstown before and after our Kepler Track. This hotel has a great location - just across the road from the QT city centre. You can walk to anywhere within the city centre right from your hotel. It’s also clean and comfortable and has a really soft, comfortable bed, good hot showers and provides a full suite of toiletries (shampoo, conditioner and body wash) within the shower. I also love that each floor has a vending machine for complimentary hot drinks (and their hot chocolate is delicious).
There are available street parking spaces at the hotel. Not too many but so far we’ve not had any problems parking our car. There is also free wifi, and comfortable shared spaces such as the rooftop.
The only reason for a star less would be the shower / toilet set up. The shower is separated from the toilet, and stands between the toilet and the sink. The doors to both the shower and the toilet are thin glass doors, which means there is minimal privacy in either space. It’s fine for solo travellers and still somewhat workable for couples, but I imagine families or friends would find this arrangement uncomfortable.
Service is also good - we received and returned our card keys promptly with little fuss.

The rooms are new and very clean. You can control the light and temperature on your phone or cool light switches around the room. There aren’t any fridges of kettles in the room but on every floor there is hot & cold and ice water along with complementary drinks like coffee and hot chocolate. There is a laundry room too which is convenient though you have to pay which is standard. The roof top is a great place to hang to eat breakfast or just enjoy the view. Would definitely stay here again if in Queenstown as it is quite central to everything.

Great location and great price. The room was very clean and the staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient.
Perfect for a stay of up to 7 nights.
Great location to walk to all bars, restaurants and cafes. The bus from the airport and the bus stop for the ski slopes were all less than a 5 minute walk away.
A few teething issues with some of the coffee machines not working, toilet lights automatically coming on overnight but for a budget hotel it was well worth the money.
