Older style property close to town. Had everything we required in a spacious room with a good sized kitchen (that we didn't use). Friendly young lady checked us in. While the weather was warm for our stay, did see that there was heating in the room and bathroom as well as electric blankets which would make the room very cosy.

Older property, probably from 1960's, but has all the basics needed and is very close to town centre. If you are looking for a long stay, or a modern motel wiih all mod cons this may not be for you. But for a single night or 2, it is quite functional and few minutes walk to town centre.

As I joked with Sue, the proprietress of this place, the Amber Lodge is not a five-star property. It's a simple "mom and pop" place that is clean, comfortable, and fairly priced -- perfect for families. I liked it a lot and will go back should I ever return to Queenstown. As nice as its simple amenities are, the location...

Good location for Queenstown. Close to shops and restaurants try Pedros house of lamb for an unusual take away. We were upgraded to a one bedroom apartment which was spacious and had everything we needed for our two night stay. Some areas that were not that visable could have done with a bit of a clean but on the whole...

Alan and Sue are absolutely wonderful hosts. They provide a simple yet home-y feel to their motel. I enjoyed waking up to a mountain view of the legendary skyline gondola. They helped us book an activity and provided extra towels for it. My best friend and I are definitely recommending it to all our family and friends. :) Thanks Al...

Not sure what the other reviewers were on about. We came to Queenstown on a budget with our intention to spend big on activities. It was a standard room with all the basic facilities and resources we needed. The kitchen was equipped and the bed was lined with an electrical blanket, perfect for the cold nights. The location of the...

I didn't even get the chance to stay here as the customer service was so poor even during the booking phase that I lost any desire at all to stay at Amber Lodge. I had made an online booking via the Amber Lodge website directly but seem to not have gotten a confirmation email in response. I, therefore, thought I'd...

We stayed there for 3 nights, the owner behaves like we are such a bother to her as like she had enough of her business and life. On first night, I couldn't find the hair dryer, I knocked her door to ask her where is it because office were closed, she yelled at me "I'm shut, this is your last...

Great location. Clean room. Friendly enough staff. TV2 didn't work, and was not repaired on my request although I was informed it would be looked at. Bathroom heater didn't work. Dim light bulbs in the unit, inadequate for any detailed work. Good heating. No view from downstairs unit. Single bed's only in my unit, seemed small, but was adequate. Good...
