Excellent value in a great location overlooking the lake. Well appointed and very welcoming staff. Rooms are modern and comfortable and more than adequate for short stays and day trips from Queenstown. Good parking and warm and cosy bar area.

The room was nice and modern with the fireplace and cleanly decorated. But the view is not satisfying as we expect to see the lake view with the price we had paid but we just got a mountain view and back view of other rooms. All was fine until we had checked out.As we had spent the two nights here, we... More

My partner and I stayed 2 nights at The Rees Hotel whilst holidaying in Queenstown. First impressions of the hotel were that the lobby was very modern and attractive however a bit confusing as to where the hotel desk was as a bar is also attached. However, we were quick to be greeted by one of the friendly staff so... More

I have visited New Zealand 3 times and can't recall a time we have stayed in accommodation such as The Rees Hotel - it was so beautiful. The room, the breakfast, the wonderful service, our degustation dinner OMG!!! We went on the Honeymoon package and loved every minute. Would love to visit again one day.

Booking a hotel from afar, even with the help of Tripadvisor, is difficult. This was a perfectly fine hotel. We visited for three nights, split by a night on Doubtful Sound, and the second room we had, 716-3, on the mezzanine level, was really splendid. It's modern, and the facilities reflect that. The reception staff particularly were delightful, even with... More

We stayed here for 5 nights in a Lakeview room. The view from the room is really good, the hotel staff is helpful, the hourly shuttle was a plus since the hotel is about a 10 minute drive from the city centre. The only con was that the room felt a bit boxy, but you cant really blame them because... More

We stayed here on our last night in New Zealand. Because the hotel is on the lake front and on the side of a hill, it's built in a multi-level style. You'll turn off the highway and go down a hill to the main entrance where you'll check-in and then they'll direct you to follow the road down and around... More

Positives: Beautiful rooms, amazing beds, very comfy living rooms with fireplaces, well equipped kitchens, good room service menu, views of the lake/mountains. Good gym, in room massages. Concierge was great for restaurant recommendations. Negatives: Service can be quiet slow, some staff are seasonal workers so they don't seem to care too much about service/politeness. Bus transfer into town is always... More

We had a lake view room for 2 nights. New Zealand is a lovely country and there is a magnificent view in front of this hotel. Love the interior design of the lobby and bar area. Service was good, everyone greet us in the morning. Had a good breakfast, fresh juice. It is not close to Queenstown city centre, but... More
