The lake view is very good.
One bedroom suite is very large, it has everything we needed and very comfortable.
Check in and out is easy and fast, just 5 minutes drive to town centre, have designated under cover parking space.
The only draw back is this hotel have many stairs, need to up and down even inside the room, not suitable for disable

The location is very convenient, walking distance to downtown and yep its a walk back up a rise, like most streets in Queenstown.... The views are amazing. The reception staff Annabel and Laura were so friendly and helpful. The problem is, this "hotel" suffers from an identity crisis brought on by an unhelpful marketing strategy promoting a 5 star hotel experience, hence the mixed bag of reviews. Its not a hotel, they're apartments, different types on different levels. We booked a Lakeview Suite and phoned ahead to confirm it was an actual Lakeview Suite and not the more budget apartment at the back. Yes, the apartment is getting worn and could do with a refit, but so can most of the accommodation in Queenstown if not NZ, unsuprisingly, after the pandemic which everyone seems to have forgotten about. Yes its expensive, but Queenstown IS expensive. But also breathtakingly beautiful. In short: if you want to see Queenstown, and enjoy a great location with fabulous views and understand self-catering apartment accommodation which is so common in NZ, this IS a great spot. We loved our stay, and would love to come back one day.

Dear Trail58947931241, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and appreciated the amazing views over the lake and mountain range, as well as our convenient location—a quick walk into town. It’s also wonderful to know that Annabel and Laura made a positive impression with their friendliness and helpfulness. We appreciate your comments about our property. We indeed offer two options: our Lake View One Bedroom Suites and our Deluxe Guest Rooms, which do not offer a lake view. Our guests also have the option of booking Two Bedroom Suites. Our suites provide a fully equipped kitchen and a large living room area, offering an amazing view over the lake and mountains. Our Lake View Swiss-SuperSuites also come with a balcony. Regarding the condition of the apartment, we acknowledge that some areas could benefit from a refresh, and we are continuously working on improvements to enhance our guests’ experience. We’re delighted that you loved your stay and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Queenstown is indeed a breathtakingly beautiful place, and we’re glad you had the chance to enjoy it. Kind regards, Matthias Schulz Senior Regional Director of Sales and Marketing Australia and New Zealand

Awesome experience staying at this property in Queenstown. We loved the spacious Lakeview 1-bed apartment that we booked, the front desk staff were very welcoming when we arrived, even late in the evening. The view from the apartment was beautiful, overlooking the Lake Wakatipu in Queenstown and the cozy living room was a nice surprise, including having our own fireplace. The kitchen was very usable and well equipped which was a nice plus and helped us make our own meals during our stay which was very helpful. I liked being slightly away from the main tourist area in Queenstown, but it was still a comfortable 15-min walk away.

Two things that the apartment could improve - the keys on the apartments need better instructions, one of the other guests were near tears trying to figure it out (I stepped in and helped as it was after the reception had closed), and the parking garage can be difficult to navigate with anything larger than a small car. All things considered, these are minor points. I would also note that because of the property layout, those with heavy bags will struggle to get them into the rooms. Overall, with these caveats I'd still recommend this property and would gladly stay here again.

Dear Jiyen1213, Thank you for sharing your thoughtful review of your stay at Swiss-Belsuites Pounamu Queenstown. We’re delighted that you had such a positive experience and truly appreciate your detailed feedback. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the Lake View Suite with its breathtaking views of Lake Wakatipu and the majestic surrounding mountain range. Where do I start with this poor poor hotel.

When we finally found the room we were greated with a sign on the door asking us to take our shoes off. We opened the door to our room and quickly realised that the room was different to what we had been sold. The photos make out that this hotel has lovely lake views with lovely seating areas. The room we booked was guest room court yard facing. Looking at the photos it doesn't show the difference and this room looks like it has the views and seating areas also. We were quickly disappointed!!

The room had a good size bed, desk and 2 chairs.

People walking passed had a lovely view of us in the room. I had to use one of the chairs to reach the blind cord to close them. The blinds were so dusty you could write on them. This then blocked any light coming into the room.

We then realised how dirty the carpet was as you enter the room also. Then seen that small. Cupboard door looked like it had chew marks on it. The room felt like it was needing a good clean and redecorated

I decided to have a shower which resulted in me having to hold the shower head in my hand as when it was placed into the holder it fell down.

The view out the window was not a lovely garden view it was a bit of very dry lumpy over grown grass and the bbq area was not accessible.

Our neighbours arrived and proceeded to run in and out of the doors all the way to after midnight talking very loudly. Having no consideration for anyone else. When we were leaving in the morning we realised that our neighbours had left the main door to our area open all night meaning anyone could have entered off the street.

After the crap room and lack of sleep we decide we were not staying for the 2nd night and left around 7.30 the next morning. Placing the key in the available drop box at reception.

I have now received an email from them saying I will be charged 50nzd for the non return of this.

Do not waste you money or time on this hotel.

Very disappointed. Booked through Qantas hotels and the blinds were broken and had to have a staff member manually deal with this issue so I could have privacy at night. Chair in room needed replacing as you went down inches when sitting in it. Air conditioning unit tired as is the block. Plus someone had set the alarm for 6am which shattered an already broken sleep. On the plus side there are kitchen facilities, laundry shared with one other unit and ironing board and iron. but it was not worth the money.

Let me start by saying that I booked this hotel through Expedia and received the room that corresponded to the advertised rate. I was also provided with clean linens. Those are the only positives I can report from my experience. The visit started off poorly with me having responded to their welcome email twice inquiring about the possibility of a room upgrade and never hearing back from their staff. I arrived to find a fully booked hotel (true for all of the hotels that weekend) and the worst possible room they could save for my stay. Adding insult to injury, I had to schlep my heavy bags by myself across an unpaved gravel road crossing a field to reach their budget rooms area. My room was not only distant from the nice room area and reception desk, but it also had a construction scaffold in front of it. No real accommodations were provided in the room so I had to fend for myself for literally everything. That included having to walk 15 minutes into town for a coffee every morning. The only reason I stayed in that room was because I was locked in by Expedia and rooms elsewhere were fully booked. I would not return to this hotel and advise others to do the same unless you're able to book a premium room through them directly. Even then, don't expect much beyond a place to sleep.

Thank you for your review, all our room layouts are the same, there are no budget room areas of the hotel. The one bedroom apartments have a view over over lake and the studios view out the opposite direction. Town is only a 10 minute walk away but we do provide tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

The most over priced and over rated accommodation I have ever stayed in. Whoever name rooms here "delux" needs to be given a dictionary to look up the meaning of the word. I think there a prison cells bigger than the room we had. It was small and claustrophobic. Need to have the air conditioner on to circulate air but that blows directly on the bed. We booked a room with a bath but the bath was no more than a cattle trough and too small to lie in and totally uncomfortable. With the shower over the bath, the hob is too high for anyone with mobility issues and is dangerous to get in and out of. Even if it had been comfortable, we couldn't have a bath or a shower on the day we arrived as there was no hot water. Reception was so far away that you needed to drive to get to it. There are no phones in the room to call reception so only way to contact is by mobile phone. We had to make multiple calls about the lack of hot water and just go excuses, never an apology. Room was advertised as having garden views and as photo attached shows, clearly no garden. We have just finished our trip to NZ and stayed in multiple accommodation. All were more comfortable, had better facilities and were cheaper than this place.

A family on school holiday in the snow & first experience in these type of apartments which essentially are 2 separate apartments accessed through 1 front door. 1 is a Studio & the other is a 1 Bedroom Apartment. As a family with 2 kids, we booked 2 Studio Units thinking that they would be side by side - BIG mistake. Instead they were upstairs and downstairs on separate levels and front doors were only accessible outside in 3° freezing cold. We also weren't prepared for the occupiers of the other unit to come through the front door with our Unit door wide opened. Studios were very tight with just enough room for a King size bed, Study/Dining table jammed against the wall and the tiniest Kitchen ever invented. Only time ever we thought that a bed was too big & after an hour with everyone cramped up in 1 Studio trying to organize some lunch we decided to ask about upgrading to a single level which fortunately was available the next day but for an extra $100/night! What a difference though, the single level turned into a proper 2 Bedroom unit with large lounge, decent dining table and full size Kitchen with oven, hobs & dishwasher! Plus a magnificent view over Lake Whakatipu & the snow capped mountains! Decent 50" TV, fireplace & computer PC as well. Note that you did need to some IT experience to get past the popups & subscription updates. WIFI was good speed. Parking is all under cover & QT central is only 15-20 minutes walk. Nice selection of artisan teas & coffees. Bathrooms are nicely finished with heated floor and tiled bath/shower that you do have to climb into but a handy support rail is strategically placed. Lots of towel rails which is always lacking in hotels. There is a full laundry with washing machine, dryer & tub.
The downside was the service staff who failed to stock the Kitchen for our included breakfast plus no shower gel in bathrooms. Fortunately the reception staff were onto it and corrected all omissions but note that you only get bread, milk, some fruit, juice & yogurt. It stocked everyday but haphazardly eg. 1 unit had entirely mango juice while the other had a variety of spirulina, berries, etc. Bathroom cleanliness left a lot to be desired as well.
Conclusion is that its not a hotel but actually a high quality motel and for a family, fully recommend getting the whole apartment.

The views were absolutely stunning, but unfortunately, there was a lot that let the place down.
Firstly we got the the door and there was scaffolding around the front of the apartment and people working something that we were not told of and when I rang the reception and asked them what's going on their reply oh they're only there for the next 20 mins. Come morning,we were woken up by workers renovating the outside the place right at the front door which you can see right thru so no privacy there. I know its not the workers fault but the hotel should of put us somewhere else not in a place that was getting renovated this included painting which we had to be careful not to get on our clothes. Renovations went on for the whole 9 days we were there.
Secondly when we arrived, we received our first basket of breakfast when we ran out and I asked for more they told me they have none left and will bring me the next day which they didn't. So I only got 1 basket the whole 9 days we were there so don't bother getting the breakfast go into town and get something from the cafes or make your own. Rooms were disgusting dusty blinds dirty couches and carpets dirty doors just gross. Housekeeping came every day but did nothing but put fresh towels and attempted at making the beds. Oh and lastly don't even bother trying to call reception they dont answer better to go down there. Really sad about the Swiss bel as Queenstown is absolutely beautiful 😍

Mixed feelings about this place. Great views (if you get a lake facing unit) and friendly staff, but extremely overpriced.

It bills itself as modern, but I can only call it modern by 2013 standards. The WiFi goes out constantly, and WiFi is required for the aging TV setup to work. The audio system was completely nonfunctional as far as we could tell. The hot tub is squeezed into an alleyway.

All of this would be fine if it were cheap. But I cannot emphasize enough, it’s extremely overpriced.

I would recommend paying extra to get a view if you plan on spending a lot of time in the room. Our view was of a concrete retaining wal with drain pipes coming out of it.
