Me and my crew stayed here for 6 days. The place is relatively clean and has a good heater but that’s where all the good stuff ends. oh man where can I start, those bunk beds are so squeaky, you can not have a tight sleep without waking up at least 3 times. Legit one little move and everyone in the room wakes up because of the sound. You can also feel the mattress springs on your back. Overall, if you need a proper place to rest, I don’t recommend this accommodative.
The free breakfast was so bad, the only healthy option you can find is WitBix with milk. No hot meals or even a simple beacon and egg is provided. The coffee machine was broken and seems like hasn’t been cleaned for over 5 years.
The free dinner they provided was a cold lasagne that was heated up a little. Overall don’t expect much for the price you pay. We serviced after 5 straight days of skiing and barely sleep.
Oh and one more thing about the equipment hire, the cloths and ski equipment are poorly maintained. All skiing cloths were ripped either inside the pockets or outside so snow could get in.

Room Tip:Honestly find a place that has least a better bed and mattress so you don’t wake up all tired.

This was our case, we had trouble finding a spare room on Queenstown in late November without reservation. In the car park (very steep) arch-full bins have been trundling for far too long. The reception towards us is rather friendly but the following Indian guests seemed to annoy the hostess. The stairs to the third floor where the room was located are dirty. The fire doors, which are supposed to remain closed, are kept open by large pots filled with stones. The room is composed of a mezzanine with too steep a staircase. As for the bathroom we can think of it as a narrow and tiny corridor where when we wash our hands our buttocks touch the door, and I am thin! It is very poorly soundproofed, from dawn we hear the first customers leave. The common kitchen for backpackers is cramped and dirty. Breakfast is included in the price. Nothing exceptional we would have known. A room too small for the amount of tourists, noisy because music with painful decibels is broadcast. No fresh fruit, no fruit juice and even less ham or eggs. I mean, as I write in the title, if you can't find anything else at least you'll sleep in a bed. And the view is nice, overlooking the mountain.

The rooms are nowhere near as nice in the promotional pictures as they are in reality….there are no views from the majority of the rooms….the image of the room we stayed in and booked, with views, are false. There are some that would on one end but most don’t as they are behind the main building. The worst thing though is the noise. This is an old timber building and you can hear everything from the surrounding rooms. We knew about every creaking step (and this was really really bad), shower and toilet flush from the room upstairs. It was horrible and really very loud and intrusive. If they woke up to get ready for the day at 5am, or can home at 11pm after being out, so did you. The rooms are very small with very little room for bags and in the ensuite you’ll need to dry and dress in the shower stall so you don’t bruise yourself or crack your head on the basin as you bend down to put pants on. The good things…plenty of hot water most of the time but not always, good heating, and clean linen…although I did get look at the doona between the sheets one day and it was not pretty. Overall, I hated it, would not recommend it and won’t stay again. If you decide that you would still stay there I highly recommend requesting a top floor room because they’ll never fix the noisy floorboards.

The first 2 nights we were itching during the night. We had very uncomfortable, very little sleep. I reported this to reception. I advised that we would check out and did not want to stay for the remaining 4 nights we had booked and paid for. They offered to change sheets but the issue may have been inside the mattress, or in the carpet. I didnt want another sleepless night. We spoke to management/head office. They have refused to give a refund for the remaining 4 nights. Management have no care for the concerns or well being of their customers.

We stayed at Reavers Lodge from 19/11/2023 to 22/11/2023 as part of our month travelling round New Zealand.
We had a twin en-suite room , which was comfortable and spacious. We also had access to a kitchen and a nice lounge.
There was a pleasant bar up stairs with a fantastic view over all of Queenstown.
The price was very reasonable and a good continental breakfast was included in the cost. ( served in the bar).
The staff were , in particular, very friendly and helpful.
We very much enjoyed our stay , many thanks Reavers Lodge.

We very much enjoyed our 2 night stay at Reavers. We had a loft room - all I suggest is watch your head on the ceiling. The room was quite quirky with a ladder type staircase up to the double bed. We loved it but might be hard if you are drunk or aged or have mobility issues. Small kitchenette including cutlery, mugs, bowls, plates, small fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster pots and hot plates (1 side was working) was everything we needed to cook for ourselves and not pay big dollars to eat out. Reasonable walk into town to local 4Square to buy groceries. No way to get luggage to room except to drag it up staircases but worth it for the view on the second floor. Complimentary breakfast was cereal and toast and coffee - just perfect for Aussie travellers.

Reavers Lodge would provide the cheapest private rooms in Queenstown! As they provide a budget rate, don't go there expecting 5 star facilities. We found the rooms very clean and the staff were absolutely amazing!!! I would recommend them to anyone with a budget in mind who wants a brilliant view from their room & a 10 minute walking distance to everything that Queenstown has to offer!

Loved my single loft room with bathroom and small kitchenette. Super convenient. More of a ladder than steps to the bed but if you’ve got good knees you’ll be right. Great staff, felt safe Not noisy at all 👌🏼 People were friendly. Car parks available. Brekky included 7-9 Can book tours and events at the desk.
Only down side was the guest kitchenette downstairs and stairwell next to it smelled like someone had tried to roast pork in the 1800s and it’s still hanging around somewhere 😂

We booked this quickly and in haste, like many of the other reviews you’ll read you realise this isn’t a good place to stay.
Positives: The staff do try and help where they can (honestly I think they realise it’s a bit of a dump so try their best) The room was tidy enough.
Negatives: Ultimately there are 3 main problems:
1. There is no kitchen facility, they make out it is but honestly it’s so small you couldn’t swing a cat around in it.
It is also next to the laundry so you’ll only end up smelling someone’s freshly washed clothes with your food.
Even then the area is filthy, as whoever does use the kitchen “never clean up their mess” it’s likely living with teenagers. My wife visited here 5/6 years ago and there was a MASSIVE kitchen which has now been blocked off as they use this kitchen to make pizzas for the upstairs cafe. It’s a real joke please see the picture attached and ask yourself can this area accommodate 60+ rooms cooking?
2. There is no consideration of noise after 10pm. I can appreciate some noise due to it being a hostel with young travellers in, but when it gets to midnight/1am/2am and you can here some moron singing the 20th rendition of “Mambo No. 5 or Sweet Caroline” it gets a bit much.
3. Linked to the point above but there is no night warden. If there was this said night warden could tell rooms when they are being noisy.
I will make sure that when friends ask for recommendations in Queenstown to tell them to steer clear of this place. Get a proper kitchen and deal with the noise and it might be different.

All I can say is... DO NOT stay here. The rooms have a funny mould/smoke smell. On the 1st night we were kept awake by a very loud party. The party could have been in our room it was that loud. I called noise control and they didn’t sound surprised when I told them we were staying at this hell hole. The walls are paper thin and you can hear every sound from your neighbours as well as people coming home in the early hours of the morning. My husband thought someone was coming into our room it was that loud. The beds are terrible and you can feel every spring in the mattress. The lady below us had a go because our kids were just walking normally on the floor and our car got hit in their crap as car park. I agree with others. This place needs shut down. You couldn’t pay me to stay there again.

I think they are private. The standard of this place is 'backpackers' . Even the apartments. Breakfast isvery basic and you are expected to wash up after yourself.
There are more places to choose from in the Queenstown area.
