Fantastic value for money with wonderful hosts, beautiful rooms and gorgeous dining / lounge room which we used every afternoon/ evening before dining at local restuarants. Very attentive hosts and delicious fresh breakfasts. Will definitely return!

Thank you for your positive feedback. Yes, we love this house. A gracious old villa that just feels like home. The guests lounge is a special room with a great view out the big bay windows. So pleased that you enjoyed your stay and are keen to return. We look forward to that too. Warm regards Sandy & Brent

This is an old house about 5 mins drive out from the city centre. It has oodles of character with large rooms and ornate interior - lovely. The owners go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and to make sure you have a lovely time in their city. Be aware that the area is a little hilly and...

Hazel house is an elegant, comfortable and welcoming home from home. The hosts are superb, offering lots of treats, good company and practical insight into the best Dunedin has to offer. Our room was tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard with top quality linen and the bathroom was well appointed and spotlessly clean with good quality toiletries. Breakfast...

This review is long overdue - however, here it is! My husband and I stayed at Hazel House for the last two nights of our trip to New Zealand in November 2016. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel completely at home and at ease. We were greeted by Brent who showed us in and was quick...

Wow. We do enjoy hosting guests and try to make everyone's stay as warm, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We always review how we do everything and look to offer a home away from home experience. Dunedin is a beautiful city, full of history and yet with a special current character. The peninsula with wonderful wildlife is awesome. We love...

My wife and I received a very warm welcome from Sandy and Brent when we arrived at Hazel House. We were very impressed with the very elegant property and the clean, comfortable rooms and enjoyed an excellent breakfast. Thank you for your kind words. Lovely to have you stay. Yes, it is a gracious old villa. We love it. We are so lucky in Dunedin to have such a selection of great restaurants. Hazel House is easy to find near the highway, but it is in a quiet quarter a ten minutes ride away from downtown Dunedin. Brent and Sandy are very good and friendly hosts, and we had some nice chats. Thank you for your positive review. Pleased you enjoyed your room and the breakfasts. You booked the King Room with private bathroom, but we also have the Pohutukawa Room with the ensuite. I do like the option of the separate bath though. We enjoy travelling and appreciate biscuits, tea and coffee available, and are pleased to offer a local beer...

Thank you for your kind words. That really makes Sandy and me smile, as we try to be welcoming, and to make staying here feel like home away from home. It's the biggest compliment that you could have written. Sandy does make yummy breakfasts, much better than my toast and tea. Hopefully we can see you again in the future....

Sandy and Brent welcomed us in a pleasant and friendly manner and that vibe continued for the rest of our stay. The non-ensuite room was comfortable, a good size and perfect for what we wanted. The breakfast was hearty. Would recommend.

Lovely to have you stay. I really like the Kowhai room with the private bathroom. It gives the option of a bath or shower in that large bathroom. It's still early spring but it's another beautiful morning. Happy travels Sandy & Brent

Fantastic. So pleased you enjoyed your stay. On holidays it is so hard to see everything, and stays always seems too short. We would have loved you to stay longer too. We aim to make your stay everything you would want. No extra charges, and feeling at home. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday in New Zealand...
