From the moment I was greeted, I felt likeI had come to the home of a friend, rather than being a paying guest.Olivia is the supreme hostess, nothing is a bother and she is full of help and information. The Victorian Room is beautiful and has fulfilled a dream of mine to step into another era for a time. I...

Great rooms. Rose room is very spacious. Rooms are cleaned daily. All your needs are catered for. Nothing is too much trouble for Olivia and Alan they are fine hosts and provide great food. If you like to stay in a traditional heritage listed home then this one is the best I've stayed in

Excellent service from the time my daughter and I were greeted at the door on our arrival by Olivia. Stayed for three nights. The room and bathroom were clean and warm. Yummy breakfasts, Olivia happy to change breakfast times and menu. Less than 10 minutes drive into city. Bus stops close by. Would highly recommend and will stay at Lisburn House...

Right from the start we were welcomed here. It was an amazing place. Olivia and Alan were extremely accommodating and friendly. The room was beautiful and clean. The bathroom was exceptionally clean the room was tidied every day. Breakfast was spot on. The fire was lit. When we mentioned we had a special occasion Olivia and Alan offered to serve...

What a beautiful place this is. The host Olivia is one in a million, very welcoming, down to earth and full of knowledge on the area. Lisburn House itself is truly beautiful, with all it's beautiful features, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. We had two nights here and thoroughly enjoyed it, the breakfasts prepared by Olivia were delicious and a...

We stayed here for two nights, in the blue room, which, as another reviewer noted, has a private bathroom which is across the hall from the bedroom, however, the room was very comfortable. My one concern is that the house is situated quite some distance from the centre of Dunedin, so you do need a car if you are staying...

We decided to stay in a B&B instead of the usual bland, corporate mega-hotels and I am so happy for that decision. This place reminded me of the stately homes of Britain. Dark woods, sweeping staircases, chandeliers, roaring fires, wing-back chairs, silver service, bone china, 4 poster beds etc. I had a quick look at the books on the shelf...

Nice stay. Be aware that rose and blue rooms, the bathroom is across the hall. You have your own bathroom, but you do have to leave your room. Olivia is very friendly and will give you her opinion of places in the area. Location is not downtown, so you will have to take car to get to city center and...

We stayed here for one night during travels through the South Island. On arrival we were greeted by the friendly and chatty Olivia who saw I was heavily pregnant so upgraded us to the Victorian room (ensuite versus private bathroom). The house is lovely, with lots of small details and interesting history. Everything was clean and tidy, and we had...

We spent a couple of nights at Lisburn House and really enjoyed it. The house itself has numerous original features including some original fireplaces and ceilings with amazing plasterwork. You can see everywhere the care and attention to detail that has gone into restoring the property and in maintaining it to a very high standard. Olivia & Alan were very...
