Absolutely brilliant, the skills of the craftsman in wood work and plaster ceilings let alone the stone work with brick inserts, magical. The grounds really enhances the castle, well done Margaret and your team of professionals.

This was a return visit for us and we were just as impressed and happy with the stay. The room was comfortable, the shared shower and toilets clean and available, the breakfast very delicious and lots of it, and the dinner that we pre booked also delicious and in such a beautiful setting. We are in awe with the work...

Enjoyable stay at the Larnach Castle, amazing views of Dunedin Harbour, beautifully kept gardens surrounding the property. The rooms are very comfortable as is the bed. Having dinner in the restaurant was a lot of fun the food was delicious though took ages to get drinks refilled!!. The hosts at dinner gave a detailed insight of the history of the...

We had a room in the lodge on the 2nd floor. Our view out the window was of the bay and peninsula below. Very beautiful. We had a canopy bed with draperies around it, which tied in with the feeling of being in a castle. The bath was large and all was clean, although the bedspreads and carpeting appeared to...

We booked a room in the Stables as somewhere unique to stay. Was a very small room but comfortable. Toilet and shower facilities are shared but not as bad as it sounds with individual shower cubicles just outside the rooms and the bathroom was like a usual facility you would see in a shopping mall but with the addition of...

We stayed at Larnach Castle Lodge overlooking the Otago Harbour for a special occasion and enjoyed a wonderful three course meal in the castle at night. The accommodation was excellent and the meal and breakfast the following morning outstanding. We found the staff very welcoming and determined to make our stay a memorable one.

Lovely drive to castle even though it was raining. Check in was pleasant. Lady explained the castle to us and then showed us to our room. We stayed in the stables. Shared facilities, nice and clean. Toured the castle which is great. Had dinner in the castle that night. Good meal in fantastic location. Highly recommended.

I expect we are going to live in the Castle, but actually we only live in the stables. The room is small. The irregular roof top already occuply a lot of space. We have to be much careful to avoid clashing the roof top. We have to use a share bathroom and tiolet. It is not worth the money.

We arrived in time to tour the gardens a few times and then walk to the "castle" for a delicious dinner with others staying there and those who just came for dinner (which we didn't know was possible).
