we stayed here unfortunately only for one night after riding the otago rail train and catching the train from middlemarch to Dunedin. Wish we could have stayed longer. Jenny and Bruce were amazing hosts. The room was awesome - spacious, clean, warm and nice little extras - chocolates and fruit in addition to well stocked tea and coffee. the view...

I have two young children, a 3 month and a 2 year old. We had driven down to Dunedin from Timaru (3 hour drive) and stayed at Callies for a night. I was lucky enough to be able to watch a super rugby game at the stadium that evening but my wife was reluctant for myself to leave her with...

Bruce and Jenny's place is so wonderful; their door is always open for a nice chat or for a question and they can offer you a lot of great things to see and do on the Otago Peninsula. The room is very cosy and clean, with a superb lakeview, the breakfast is delicious and the region is wonderful. Thank you...

We loved Callies. Jenny and Bruce are super hosts and have a lovely home in peaceful surroundings in the village of Portobello just a few minutes’ walk from a couple of good restaurants and the local store. Our room (there is only one) was spacious, very clean and comfortable with a marvellous view across the water, whether sitting in the...

We had a lovely two night stay at Callie's. Bruce and Jenny are just as wonderful as everyone says. We had every type of weather on the peninsula and enjoyed them all. Very cozy and spacious room. Sun came out for us to enjoy the private fleck after a blustery drizzly walk. Elm wildlife tour was terrific too.

My husband and I had a delightful stay with Jenny and Bruce for 3 nights whilst visiting the Otago Peninsular around mid-Nov. Both could not have been more accommodating and helpful. We arrived to a friendly Jenny who immediately offered us a glass of wine after showing us around and an energetic Joey, their cute dog. Our room was very...

This one-room B&B is truly superb! We landed not just in a lovely area of the South Island but also in the heart of a warm and wonderful family. The place is located about a 5-minute walk from Portobello, where restaurants and the bus stop are located. The room, on the second floor, was large, spotlessly clean, and equipped with...

It was a stay with a family, not just a Bed and Breakfast. Beautiful surroundings, excellent and homely facilities, to-die-for breakfast served by the owners, we will go back to stay with the Callies every time we visit the South Islands.

How can you review someone who has had more than 40 people telling the world that they are excellent? What more can you add? I think it's suffice to say that when we left Callies, we told Bruce and Jenny "they have a home in Christchurch now and they should drop by our place whenever they are in the Garden...
