I have stayed at the Sahara before and was happy to return. It's location is handy, plenty of parking and an easy 20 minute walk to the city. I was accommodated on both occasions in the house with shared facilities. It was all good.

Urgent accomodation required, relative in ICU. We booked five nights accomodation in total over a ten day period in different motels using a non refundable website, 4 of these were perfectly fine. The one night at this place was NOT. Entrapment when property owners sell rooms on non refundable websites that are filthy, smelly and ancient and do not match...

Great location near to town. But the rooms in the guest house have a lot to be desired. Rooms need to have their own tea/coffee facilities. The tvs are old and small so hard to see nowadays with widescreen on square screens that are too small to start with. The carpets and curtains need maintanence. Over all a tired place that...

I stayed in the 'deluxe studio apartment' which was lovely - nice big room, clean kitchen and bathroom. Would stay again, definitely. Nice and renovated with a heat pump. Sound proofing could be better - noisy neighbours next door and could hear when people opened and closed the door across the hall. Quiet otherwise though - couldn't hear traffic or...

Stayed for two night, in different rooms. Both rooms were in the new block (room 8 and room 1) and were Executive like rooms, with plenty of space, nice kitchen, couch and a very tidy and clean shower/toilet. Friendly staff and helpful. There is also a common room, where you can meet up with other guests and have a tea...

We stayed in the older part of the motel. Our room was incredibly noisy - creaking from upstairs and the plumbing from adjoining units kept us awake. Good location but it is pretty dated and overpriced for what it is.

What an amazinf find - a motel in Dundein CBD that accepts dogs! This was a great place to stay if you want to bring your dog and the owners were really friendly. Whilst the decor was a bit dated, it was great to stay in a classic styled place.

Stayed for one night. It is really well located for the shops, restaurants and pubs at the top end of George Street. The owners are friendly and helpful. A lovely old building. The décor is older, but it is very clean. Very good value for money.

During our 3.5 weeks travelling in NZ we stayed in a number of budget motels throughout both the North and South Islands. This one however was by far the worst. We stayed at the Sahara for two nights at NZD 109 per night -- far too expensive for what it is. The room was dirty, dated and smelly. It looked...
