Just off the plane from UK we stayed here for 2 nights. Quiet, impeccably clean, and yet central to Sumner - you're just 2 mins stroll from wonderful beach, fish n chips, restaurants, cafes, supermarket and bakery. Bruce was very helpful with tips on what to see and where to eat, and on travel and transport, which made making the...

Le Petit Hotel is a really nice place, located in the Sumner village. The beach is very close by, and it has some good restaurants (we preferred 'Salt'). The owners (Martine and Bruce) are really nice and helpful people. The rooms are nice and tidy, with a great bathroom and a good bed. The balcony with beach/sea-view is lovely. We...

buildings fitted out to a high standard, nice continental breakfast, comfortable rooms. gives the impression of a high end B&B but without the absurd price tag. we found it very good value overall and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I would rate Le Petit as the best accommodation on the south side of town in the $100 to $150 a night...

Le Petit Hotel is exactly what you would expect. It is small, friendly, cozy just like home away from home. The hotel is French style, including the perfect breakfast croissants, and is in Sumner, a resort style quarter in the suburbs of Christchurch. The location is quite far from the city center, but there is an excellent bus service to...

Truly tiny (four room) custom built hotel serving homemade croissants at breakfast, owned by Christchurch's French consul and her NZ Scottish husband - truly the Auld Alliance . And remember to lavish attention on Cara, the resident terrier. Martine has deep hotel experience, and her attention to detail (and her authentic French antiques) shows a polish not often found off...

This is a sweet, welcoming hotel right in the heart of lovely Sumner village. The hotel is small and intimate with a lovely garden and charmingly appointed rooms. Comfortable and nicely decorated in a country French style. My only criticism would be that there are few toiletries such as soap and conditioner and that while there is coffee and tea...

If you can imagine a perfect B&B, Le Petit Hotel will be it. Immaculate interior together with amazing attitude from the hosts who make you feel like a long time awaited guest and in no way like someone who will be staying for just couple of nights, makes it a place you really regret leaving.

We stayed here for a night with our Dog, and had a lovely stay. It was winter, and the rooms were snuggly and warm, and the hotel is really well located to Sumner's restaurants and also the beach. The best bit were the hosts, Bruce and Martine who welcomed us with open arms, and provided a gorgeous breakfast (The best...
