We enjoyed every single minute of our stay at this elegant B & B, we were able to walk everywhere which we especially loved, and our warmly welcoming, generous, engaging and thoughtful Hosts: Costa & Despina went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable.
We stayed in a more modern upstairs suite, and highly recommend, although the executive rooms downstairs were also beautiful and bursting with charm and character! The property’s stained glass was one of many stunning notable features, and the Guest Lounge where breakfast was served each day was fabulous for socialising and relaxing, with a range of beverages on offer, fresh fruit and other enjoyable light food options.
Additional Comments: Breakfast is very good (there’s an option on a cooked breakfast with fee, though we recommend you arrange this with notice, if possible,) wifi was 100% reliable, there was a cosy and pleasant outdoor seating area, and on-site parking options (first in, first served.) Huge advantage: central, but oh so quiet!
The location is all that’s needed to score The Classic Villa a 10/ 10, and yet there are so many more reasons to fall in love with this very special heritage haven! We can’t wait to return and recommend The Classic Villa without hesitation. Thank you Costa & Despina!
This was the last stop before we traveled home, and whilst we'd been staying in AirBnBs most of the rest of the trip, I told the wife I wanted the night before our flight to be in an established verified brick and mortar hotel. The Classic Villa was a boutique version of that, but in a wondrous location, with easy access to the botanical gardens, the cathedral, and several restuarants. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Breakfast likely would've been fab, but we had an early departure and missed out. Room was a bit cramped, and my wife hit her head on the bathroom door rack once (which she anticipated doing), but these are minor concerns. Everything was clean and possibly the best bed we had on our 12 night trip.
Steve and Jackie Clark are wonderful managers. Steve gets extra props because he remembered several months after I made my booking that I’d asked about being able to get laundry done.
Hotel is well situated for walking around - many great eateries close by.
We were sorry to leave!
No tea/coffee making facilities in room, all available in main kitchen area, but it meant you had to get dressed and go down to make a hot drink.
Room rather dark in keeping with the age of the house, bed and pillows were rather hard. Room was clean and shower efficient.
Laundry service offered but at hotel prices.
Breakfast - lots of choice but not much of it and some of the fruit was rather tired. Extra charge if cooked breakfast wanted.
This is a small establishment ie perhaps 15 rooms or so in an historic type two storey villa. Breakfast was continental.
All in all this is definitely a 5 star accomodation, with great rooms, hosts and the best location with a short 3 - 5 minute walk to the middle of the city.
