We stayed at the Farr Suite and it was a lovely room with a decent view. The hosts were friendly and helpful. They gave good advice on local restaurants and things to do. They also let us use the house laundry free of charge. This is only a few blocks away from downtown and we found it easy to walk...

Stayed for 2 nights several days apart. On arrival for our first visit we were greeted by the owners and shown to a spar bungalow room alongside the entrance driveway. Were issued with our breakfast- 2 pieces of frozen bread, and 1 small bottle of milk. Found in the room some small packets of cereal. Asking the owner next day...

We stayed in the main building and were kindly offered an upgrade. The room was beautiful and well equipped, with every need catered for. Merivale provided us with a most comfortable 1 night stay following our flight from Hong Kong.

We stayed for one night in the Te Wepu suite and we wish we could have stayed longer! The ground floor suite was fantastic, and as two couples with a small child it was perfect, with two large separate bedrooms, both with en-suite and a spacious living/dining area. Complimentary bread, milk, cereals etc. for breakfast were a welcome surprise addition...

We booked on line in Australia and were delighted with the Merivale Manor. The hosts are. Very friendly and we had a room on the lower floor in the old manor and it was fabulous. Lovely decor and natural light, beautifully appointed and modern while still holding a great deal of charm. Just sensational and highly recommended.

Merivale Manor is all we hoped it would be. Super clean, generous room, with well equipped kitchen area. It is also well situated for walking into CHCH, and despite being next to the road, we had no problem with any traffic noise. The main building is beautiful, but we stayed in a deluxe access studio in front. Staff and owners friendly.

We stayed here for one night in a manor studio, it was amazingly well done, blending the class of an old manor, with all the modern conveniences you'd expect from a hotel. We had a fantastic night, and I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to stay with a bit of class and character.

All facilities very good. Clean, reasonable space and excellent hosts who were charming and helpful in suggesting places to eat. Also let us park on premises while we toured Christchurch next morning. Thanks for an excellent stay
