Stayed in a King Studio Room for 4 nights during a visit to explore Christchurch and surrounds.
Conveniently located about 10 min walk into the central city and bus stop just a few hundred metres if coming by bus No 8 to or/from the airport.
The room was modern with comfortable bed and pillows The lights could easily be switched on and off from bed. A comfortable swivel chair and rug to sit and look outside or watch the midsize TV.
The room had self controlled heating and air conditioning that allowed the room to be made comfortable day and night.
A separate desk area and chair for those that may be on business.
Tea, coffee and hot chocolate with electric kettle , mugs and wine and drinking glasses and a small bar fridge with milk.
The separate bathroom with walk in shower and large rainforest shower head and a separate hand held shower head. Plenty of bench space to store toiletries. A blow dryer was located under the bench.
The towels and face washers were of good quality and complimentary toiletries provided.
Plenty of power points and one USB port for charging phone, power bank etc.
Luggage area for one suitcase and electronic safe and ironing board and extra blanket and some clothes hangers in an open wardrobe area.
No noise from other rooms during my stay other than the occasional electronic click of a door opening, The doors do not slam shut when closed therefore no banging late at night or early morning when other guests are coming and going from their rooms.
Two lifts service the 4 levels of the hotel.
I did not eat at the hotel as there were too many restaurants and eateries in the city but I did have drinks and coffee and staff were very attentive and appeared eager to look after their guests.
I was able to easily visit the main city sights by walking and also travel by bus to New Brighton Beach, Christchurch Gondola and the town of Lyttelton during the stay.
All the hotel staff, that I encountered at reception, the cleaning staff in the corridor and bar/restaurant staff provided exceptional service.
Overall I would recommend this hotel and would certainly stay here again if returning to Christchurch.

The location is convenient 10min walk to town center for all the restaurants, bars and sightseeing activities. 10 min in the opp direction can take you to the large Hagley park and botanical gardens. Hotel bar and restaurant was popular with locals, though limited happy hours drink options (4:30-6:30 pm everyday for 10$ per drink on the HH list).
The room was very clean and comfortable with all toiletries provided. TV has Netflix and Prime for guests sign-in options. We were given a high floor with beautiful sunset view.
Water pressure for shower is a bit weak but not a big problem for us.
Free parking at the rear - first come first served
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

We enjoyed a three night stay in this near new hotel. Rooms are average sized and nicely appointed. Bathrooms were also well appointed and very clean. LOVE the nice big shower with addition of rainhead/hand held tapware, and a good force of water. Lovely fluffy white bath towels. Each room has a safe for your valuables and every second level has a laundry room with a coin operated washer & dryer.
Downside of this hotel is that there appears to be no off-street parking.
Situated close to a few nice restaurants and a small convenience store in case you run short of the necessities.
Breakfast was pretty good... the buffet offerings looked pretty ordinary (just continental brekky and seemed overpriced) so we ordered off the menu. Coffee was very good and the breakfast meals were very nice.
There's a bar set up adjacent to the breakfast restaurant but it's not yet open. Once the bar and the restaurant open in the evenings it will vastly improve this hotel. We were pretty tired after long day tours and would have welcomed a meal in the hotel restaurant but had to venture out because there was nothing on offer.
Happy to recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Dear wilsOncm Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your detailed feedback on your recent stay with us. I really appreciate you doing this as it helps us ascertain our levels of comfort and service. Your feedback will also help other travelers with making a decision on whether or not to stay with us and you have hit the nail on the head about the restaurant and bar. We are working hard to fully open our brand new food & beverage operation however a few setbacks have prevented this from happening unfortunately. We fully agree that once our new bar & restaurant fully open it will greatly enhance our guests experience with us. It was our pleasure having you stay with us and we really hope we get to welcome you back one day. Enjoy your travels through New Zealand and take care. Yours sincerely Yuri Hotel Manager

We chose this hotel as offered all we wanted for our 1 night wedding anniversary stay. A. Wee bit out of town centre but okay with on site cafe, and seemed worth it for the promised views from each room. Reviews were good too. Unfortunately our experience was not as advertised. Our room (306) was tucked in behind the lift well with a view of a wall and zero sun. Poor filtration on air conditioners meant Christchurch’s shameful pollution stench from the damaged Bromley sewerage ponds pervaded the hotel - our room was not a pleasant place to be. The cafe was not operating. Our bathroom had soap residue all around evidencing poor cleaning, and the pictured wine glasses were nowhere to be seen for us to enjoy our special bottle of celebratory bubbles. This property offers an 11am checkout for an extra $30, we were so pleased we declined, noisy cleaning staff disrupted our Sunday morning sleep in from 8.30am anyway (every word of conversation could be heard from the corridor into our room - clearly that noise transfer works two ways so forget about privacy….). And if your larger than a size 12 forget about being able to sit in the 1 lounge chair in the room. Never again. Never again

Chose hotel because it was reasonably new, about a 10 min walk into city and price was very competitive. All staff were pleasant and greeted you when you entered or left the hotel. Room was as advertised. Even though my room faced Colombo Street, did not hear any street noise. Had a good view towards the mountains. While the restaurant was closed there are cafes and restaurants close by. It’s across the road from the airport bus 29 so no need to take a $40 to $50 taxi if you don’t have much luggage.

Comfortable beds in a quiet corner of Christchurch but within walking distance to the Square Carnmore provided an awesome mid range option for our 4 night stay . The staff were exceptional with a huge shout out to Yogi- Food and Beverage manager- who gave us an awesome run down of India vs NZ cricket one day match, and Marina- the Argentinian rugby fan. We loved the friendliness of all staff and the food options at the restaurant.

We stayed for one night on our 2 week road trip from Christchurch and back again and Carnmore delivered everything that you would want in an over night stay despite the lack of parking. Upon checking in, everyone was commenting on where to find a park as their tiny car park was full at 3:30pm. Lucky we could drop off bags easily and then find a park down the road. However after 5pm it was easier to move your car closer on Salisbury St. However during our stay we forgot about that little hiccup as the room, super comfy bed and good shower certainly made up for it. The location is a good 10 min walk to the centre and I recommend the Riverside Market as a dinner destination. Lots of stall holders to choose from and being able to buy a glass of wine and walk around with it is pretty cool. The restaurant is excellent for coffee and breakfast before setting off on exploring the wonder South Island.

Service was splendid, rooms were equipped for short stay, lovely rainhead spacious shower. Modern design and all set with new furnishings and electonics. Comfortable bed. Restaurant at the bottom which served a lovely breakfast (albeit needed a bit of relish or sauce or something served with it) only thing we struggled with was trying to get the room temperature even it was either too hot or too cold. Was pleased there was a extra blanket in the wardrobe. Definately would stay again and definatly would recommend. Nothing was too much trouble, reception phoned when our food delivery was dropped off, they changed our room when I realised I was frightened of heights out of nowhere, they stored our bags for us before check in and all with a smile. Over all very good!

I stayed at the Cosa Hotel on the first Saturday of July, as I saw them advertised on the Grabone website. I purchased their voucher which included a Studio King Room, Breakfast with Bottomless Espresso Coffee and a Late Checkout of 12pm. Check in was very quick and easy. The room was warm, comfortable and oh so clean, and the girls at the front desk were very lovely and accommodating. The location of the hotel was perfect for me as I had an event to go to at the Town Hall which was only a short walking distance to and from the Hotel. I enjoyed my stay so much that I would definitely stay here again, and will highly recommend to others! Thank you so much

Walked in off the street and they had a room. Receptionist was friendly , helpful and efficient. Room was spacious and everything was amazing clean! Very quiet despite being on a busy street. Didn’t hear any traffic noise as all double glazed. No inside noise either but I don’t think it was super full. Amazing shower with all toiletries included. We had a beautiful evening meal and the restaurant on the ground floor, staff were knowledgeable and friendly and helpful with choices. We didn’t have breakfast but it did sound very nice with full buffet or smaller options if you wished. We would definitely recommend staying here, and when quoted website price it was granted so mention the website price when checking off the street if not pre booked.
