I have stayed at the Kauri Motel on Riccarton on a few occasions over the past few years when I have stayed for a night or two while travelling for work. Nicky is very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are very clean and have everything you need, with very comfortable beds and an amazing shower! The location is a winner - right across the road from Westfield Riccarton Mall and walking distance for everything you need - on my last trip I had an awesome breakfast at Park Ranger and delicious dinner at Budda Stix. Finally if you have a car, there is free parking! Definitely recommend this place !
Stayed for 5 nights. Was really happy with the room and the service. Nikky looked after us very well. I come to Chch once a year for work related purpose. I’ll definitely stay again next year. The premises are located off busy Riccarton road but the room is really quiet and sound proofed. Shopping centre is literally across the road
Really enjoyed my stay here. The motel is warm, new, quiet and convenient for Riccarton, the university and Hagley park. The owner is lovely and very helpful. The unit is very clean and the shower has fantastic strong pressure which is not always the case!
I stayed at the Kauri Motel for a week in November whilst on business in Christchurch. The owners Nicky and Bryan, were very keen to make my stay comfortable. This is an excellent business motel - the room was well appointed with a very comfortable bed with crisp bed linen, and fluffy towels. I was particularly pleased that there was an efficient power shower and spa bath. It is located opposite a large shopping mall and with good eateries nearby. The nearby Park Ranger serve fantastic breakfasts!
This motel is one of the best I have stayed in anywhere. Top marks for cleanliness and presentation, great staff who are really friendly and helpful, excellent location. One of the things that really impresses me is the commitment to minimisation of waste. No unnecessary packaging re breakfast. The milk is decanted into a small glass bottle, recycling arrangements are in place, The same attention to detail around waste and packaging applies to the breakfast which is extremely good value.
Excellent location, very clean and spacious room with a spa tub and lots of amenities. Room included a small kitchenette with plenty of tea, coffee, and hot cocoa. It even had some biscuits for a great snack.
Spent one night here on way back to Australia, was great place, very close to shops. Situated on very busy road but did not hear any noise at all. Very comfy beds, great shower and heater in bathroom which we needed. Would recommend for sure
Nice comfortable clean unit. Very good value for money. On main road but quite sound proof. Very good location just across road from Westfield Mall. Lots of places to eat within walking distance, would stay there again.
I travelled to Christchurch for business and was put up at the motel. The motel is located on a busy road, directly across from Riccarton Mall. The room was quite large, and was warmed using the heat pump. The room was equipped with my sky which was great. A short walk to the local pub was great also. The one down side to the place was the noise of the street. Double glazing is installed, however noise could still come through the door. Otherwise a great stay.
There were some noisy 20 somethings next door one night, but other than that, this was probably the best motel I've ever stayed at, and it was a bargain to boot. Imagine a motel where you discover that the washer and dryer DON'T have a coin slot. They just make them available. And the soap was free. What??? The beds were comfortable and heated, the kitchenette had everything you could want except an oven. It even had a range. The bathroom had a heater that would blow you away and the shower! It was like a sauna. It had a glass top. I've never seen anything like it. The motel is on Riccarton and is right across the street from the Westfield Shopping Mall. It's an easy drive to the center of Christchurch, and there are plenty of Metro buses on the street if you don't have a car. For a steak dinner, try the Fox and Ferret, a restaurant on the first through street east/south. Rotherham I think. It is also the street we used to get to the rear of the shopping center.…
