The location is right in the city centre and close to all the activity. I also loved the common room!! As a solo traveller I found it was a nice open space with lots of games, TV and comfy sofas, so it was easy to meet new people! Not to mention the free WIFI! The staff were nice and the...

The YHA in Christchurch is located perfectly if you arrive by Intercity bus. It’s about a 5 minute walk from the bus station. The building is quite big and a bit of a riddle to me, but it’s definitely a lovely, renovated building. The beds are very comfortable and I had a plug for charging at my bed, what was also...

Modern clean rooms with shared or on suite bathroom. Nice Common room where the TV is on subtitles for everyone's bliss!!! Kitchen might be just a tad too small if it gets busy but is definitely well equipped. Right in the town center and only a stone throw from the Botanical Gardens with it's majestic trees. Can't go wrong with...

Very solid hostel. Well-located near the gardens as well as the bus stop for places like Queenstown (leaves from in front of the museum). Big lockers in the rooms with plugs inside to charge electronics. Comfy beds. The kitchen and lounge are massive with plenty of room for everyone. Friendly enough staff. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you're looking...

Kia Ora Sarah, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us some feedback. Our team have worked hard over the past two years to improve our rooms and communal space and its great to see it's showing. I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in New Zealand. Kind Regards, Luke Tarplett, Hostel Manager

The place doesn't look like the photos. The rooms were small with no room for my stuff. Our room was right next to the restaurant next door which played loud dance music all night even though no one was in the bar. It was unreasonably loud. The room was clean except the bathroom smelled like pee.

Kia Ora, I think you have not selected the correct property. Your comments related to a Restaurant and Bar next door and we do not have one in close proximity to the hostel. Kind Regards, Luke Tarplett, Hostel Manager

This hostel is in a great location to explore Christchurch CBD. The staff were great...the girl who checked me in was so cheerful and helpful. Stayed in female only dorm which had its own bathroom, everything was clean and dorms had lockers with plugs to safely charge your electronics.

We stayed in this YHA for the first time and really enjoyed the great location near to town centre and botanical gardens. Booked a triple (external) via phone and got a room in the backyard, which was totally fine for us and finally we knew what "external" means. There are toilets/showers out there, but we could also use the facilities...

The hotel is greatly located, very close to the city centre and the botanical garden. Staff members are friendly and really helpful. The wide living room is furnished with comfortable sofas, where it is nice to relax. The weaks points: the doors of the bedrooms (we were staying in a twin room on the ground floor) and the shared bathrooms...

Kia Ora Jose-Marie, I sorry to see that you did not enjoy your stay at our hostel. Due to high demand over the summer season, we have taken on new cleaning staff to alleviate cleanliness tasks throughout the building. Regarding our fire doors, they shut automatically due to fire regulations to secure the entire building if one ever occurred. We...

My bed smelled of urine at arrival, but the staff was super friendly and made sure to put me in a new room that didn't smell. Great facilities, centrally located, and a decent price. Highly recommend!

Booked a room with a bathroom on my second stay at this hostel as did not enjoy shared bathrooms last time - wet, musty and not too many.
