We stayed here for two nights and the only complaint would be the bathroom - far too small and a shower curtain could leak water all over the floor. The base of the shower was stainless steel and a bit slippery.. An excellent breakfast and pleasant staff - a good place to stay while you do your tour of the... More

Thank you , I note your comments re the bathrooms and the upgrade in this room type will be completed by October 2015 which will be wonderful. As previously said there is other room types to choose with luxury bathrooms . We do hope you get to come back and enjoy the completed bathroom upgrade . It was lovely to... More

My husband and I choose to stay in Chateau Marlborough for a night of comfort and also because the location is perfect - right next to Seymour Square. We stayed in the Superior Suite and were absolutely delighted with it. This room has the following features which may help you with your booking choice: Our room was located on the... More

The hotel looks lovely from the outside and there was plenty of free car parking. My wife and I had read about the ‘cranky’ receptionist and were intrigued but we actually found her to be helpful and she sorted out a first class day tour to the wineries for us. The room was very comfortable but the bathroom was the... More

Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay with us. I note your comments re the bathrooms , the room type that you chose to stay in do not have refurbished bathrooms , there are many other room types to choose from with luxury bathrooms. We have reflected this in a lower room rate. We do hope you can... More

We've been traveling for a little over 2 weeks and will review some of the places we've stayed after our trip but I just wanted to post this so I don't forget. We booked 2 nights after leaving Wellington :-( via the ferry. This was such a comfortable oasis we changed to 3 nights just to catchup on our travel... More

We stayed two nights at the Chateau Malborough and had a pleasant stay. I agree with some earlier reviews that I'm not sure if I would rank it as a five star and boutique hotel. Staff was mostly friendly (a cranky girl checked us in but the rest of the staff was all very friendly and helpful). The room was... More

Thank you for taking the time to place your feedback. As I have responded in other reviews we note your comments re the bathrooms . The photos and brochures look great but while money has been spent on the outside and downstairs and the furnishings in the bedrooms have been somewhat updated the bathrooms are just bad. We stayed in room 102 which was from the 60 s. Formica with vinyl tile wallpaper round the bath and cheap plastic edging with black mold. So old... More

Thank you for your feedback. I note your comments re the bathrooms and we are working hard to complete these in our classic suites. We have reflected this in our room rate for this room type whilst the upgrade is being completed. We do hope to have this done by October 2015. I am sorry that you found our service... More

This is a hotel! To start with, the welcome was very friendly and helpful. Our room suite was comfortable and quite and the facilities great. Now the IMPORTANT part. The restaurant. I'm not entirely convinced by the official description when it says "5-star" and "boutique"; nevertheless, we had a good night's sleep (apart from being awoken at 1am by drunks jumping into the swimming pool). Breakfast was fine also, and the staff friendly, helpful and efficient. It's possibly a little expensive for what it is - we paid 85% per night... More

We arrived and were early, did not find the staff particularly friendly or helpful, more like busy and impatient.
