I stayed here on my own for two nights 5th & 6th Jan during my trip to NZ. The welcome I received from Trudy was very warm especially as my sat nav had been playing up and I had to phone her for directions. I had stayed here before in 2005 with my late partner, when it was run by...

I popped in at a local book store some time ago, where I found a book titled something like “100 hotels to stay at before you die”. Straw Lodge was on the list, and so I told my wife that our next holiday destination is to be Straw Lodge in Marlborough, NZ. When we arrived, Trudy was there to give...

We are a family of four and stayed over New Year. Simply amazing, the extra attention to detail is simply sublime. With home made cookie and wine from their vineyard, free bike hire, hot tub and an extremely warm welcome. Shame we could only stay 1 night, next time we will be staying at least 3 nights in this area...

This is our 2nd visit to BLE and we still choose The Straw Lodge. We absolutely love & enjoy the hospitality & pure awesomeness offered by Trudy and Barry. It makes the Starwlodge our 2nd home. The pure home made fruit salads, lemon curd and breakfast definitely fully charged us up for the trip. We sincerely believe you will find...

Trudy and Barry were exceptional hosts, and we enjoyed a sumptuous platter and bottle of their vineyard wine in the evening. Both very passionate about their vineyard, we were beautifully educated about growing vines during a delicious breakfast. The lodge was perfect in every detail, and exceptionally comfortable.

We had the great pleasure of staying at Straw Lodge, during our holiday in New Zealand this November. Sadly it was only for one night, because the whole experience was delightful. We could not have been more comfortable and Trudy and Barry were just so helpful and made us feel so very much at home. We were not able to...

Previous reviews tell you this is a very special place. It has two beautiful rooms on a working organic winery. The rooms are lovely, the setting is fantastic, the whole set up is first class. Trudy and Barry are really lovely, we really enjoyed talking to them, I learnt a lot about growing grapes. It was a great privilege to...

Really stunning place with wonderful hosts. We spent two weeks in New Zealand on our honeymoon, driving from place to place every 1-2 days. Our 2 night stay at Straw Lodge was a real highlight. Trudy and Barry were exceptionally friendly and the cottage is lovely and has absolutely everything you need. Trudy knew it was our honeymoon so had...

I can't say enough good things about the B and B ! The room was lovely, comfortable and convenient, and the hosts were friendly, helpful and efficient. On a month long trip to New Zealand involving several B&Bs, breakfast at Straw Lodge won first prize. If I were ever lucky enough to return to New Zealand, I would go there...

We had the most amazing stay at Straw lodge. The location is perfect a few minutes from the wineries, views from the room are spectacular and hospitality is amazing. Trudy and Barry went out of their way to book dinner reservations, winery recommendations, and provided bikes for a wine tour free of cost. The perfect example of going above and...
