We stayed for only one night - and wished we'd had more nights here. This is a seriously special place! I don't think the photos really do it justice. It's beautiful being right there on the vineyard, and the comfortable little retreat has it's own private garden area and view. But it was the hosts that were truly outstanding (Trudy...

Very nice host and warmest welcome for us. The property is right at the edge of vineyard and from the front of your room you can see and touch the vines. As we're on honeymoon, Trudy gave us the most special memorable part of the trip. Thank you so much and we've enjoy our stay. Wish we could stay longer.

Location was great, rooms were spacious and clean. They helped us find spots for dinner and the breakfasts were amazing. Homemade croissants with a lovely view of the vineyard. There were even bikes available to cruise around on.

We spent three nights at Straw Lodge and thought it was the perfect choice for our stay in Marlborough. The room was comfortable, and we enjoyed the views of the vineyards. Trudy and Barry were wonderful hosts, sharing information about the area and even driving us to dinner two nights. Because we were due to get to Straw Lodge fairly...

The atmosphere of this lodge is just delightful. I truly recognized the accommodation is created by the hosts and their personality this time. Trudy is very thoughtful and kind to guests, and her breakfast was very tasty! The restaurant they introduced was wonderful ,too. The memory of the lodge in vineyards is unforgettable. We really want to visit again. Highly...

A peaceful oasis away from the bustle of Blenheim albeit interrupted by the gas gun bird scarers which come with the territory. Trudy and Barry are excellent hosts and helpful in every way. Amongst other things ferrying us to nearby restaurants. Make a trip to The Arbour restaurant a must do. Great breakfast bathed in sunshine looking out on magnificent...

Straw Lodge is ensconced in a family operated vineyard outside Blenheim. The small two suite B&B could not be placed in a better spot. You approach this “heaven in a vineyard” via a narrow gravel driveway. As you approach the front door of the residence (next to, but detached from the suites) you will probably see a free standing chalkboard...

Straw Lodge is an exceptional place to stay when visiting the Blenheim area. With only two rooms, each with private patios facing the beautiful vineyard, guests receive personal attention from the owners, Trudy and Barry. They are generous, warm and genuine, and truly care about their guests. One can request a huge veggie/cheese platter for dinner prepared by Trudy along...

Trudy and Barry were among the most hospitable people we met in New Zealand. They make you feel truly welcome in their home. Breakfasts were very good with excellent fruit, beverages, and yogurt at each meal, and a special main course each day. Trudy made dinner reservations for us and also had excellent suggestions for places to visit, including wineries...
