Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A wonderful boutique hotel hosted by Heidi and Werner. One of the warmest welcomes we've ever experienced with tea and homemade cakes. The location is excellent for walks right from the house and convenient for Blenheim and local vineyards. The Peppertree gardens and lovely. The breakfasts are cooked to order and are perfect.

Sorry to say this lovely property is living on past glory’s. Whilst the property itself is lovely the Garden Room we stayed in is firmly staying in the 80’s. The bed which was two singles making a king was at least 20+ years old which makes sense given the top magazine on the bedside table was dated 2009. Once 5 Star l am sure but at the price being charged you can do better elsewhere. Heidi was lovely however we were not introduced to Werner which was unusual for a B&B.

A warm welcome and a wonderful stay await anyone lucky enough to stay at the Peppertree on a tour of New Zealand. Book a platter for dinner in the evening and enjoy a good breakfast with home baking in the morning. Try a bottle of wine made from their own vineyard

We had a wonderful time at this inn. The room, grounds, food and service were impeccable. Heidi was so helpful getting us sorted out with restaurant reservations and taxis and day tours. Our room was lovely, spacious and clean and the grounds so beautiful and restful. The breakfasts lasted us all day and were included in the room charge. There were no surprise charges. I highly recommend this property!

Outstanding! We were fortunate to spend 2 nights in this delightful BB with our gracious hosts. The Inn is adorable, clean, charming and every detail has thought through. The grounds are gorgeous, and the living area was a wonderful place to meet new fellow travelers. The front porch for coffee is perfect. Heidi is an amazing hostess and her breakfast can rival Martha Stewart for taste and presentation!

We are now back after our wonderful visit to NZ. One of our highlights was our stay at this exceptional place. The owner, Heidi, and her husband have a wonderful spirit, dynamite cooking skills (still tasting those chocolate muffins), exceptional wine from their vineyard and the overall vibe was just what we needed halfway through our month-long stay in NZ. She and Werner love what they have created and that is apparent. How lucky they have found what they love to do and make money too. Staying true to the character of the house, many lovely antiques, but very nice modern bathrooms. Careful attention to the smallest details were appreciated. If you want crowds and commotion go elsewhere, but if you are seeking serenity and style, stay here.

This is a lovely inn located on the outskirts of Blenheim, close to countless vineyards. The gardens are beautiful. Breakfast was delicious. It’s hard to imagine a more gracious and welcoming host than Heidi. A great choice for anyone visiting the Marlborough Valley!

From the moment we entered this beautiful property we knew the experience would be great. The building and grounds are beautiful. The room comfortable and spacious and the privacy and outdoor spaces great. The hosts are friendly and interested with a good knowledge of the local area to guide guests in restaurant and activity choices. The location is excellent and allows easy access to Blenheim, vineyards and attractions. The breakfast was outstanding. Lots of choice, homemade and served in a beautiful, elegant room. I would definitely recommend and return to Peppertree if in the area.
