Stayed for 3 nights. Very nice secluded spot about 15mins from Blenheim. Vineyard adjacent. Peter and Alex made us feel right at home in the beautiful house. Guests limited to 3 rooms helped to keep the intimate character. Meals were excellent. Highly recommended.

We pulled up to this wonderful estate and Alex and Peter where right there to greet us. They showed us around their beautiful place, and we were so impressed with the work that they have done to restore it and continue to do so. I have to admit, I was very surprised with the food we received. Alex is a...

Having stayed here for two days on our last NZ trip two years ago, there was no doubt we would be coming back for more in this beautiful old country house! Four days this time - still not long enough. With a lovely welcome from Alex and Peter and staying in the Clifford room this time, we immediately felt at...

I stumbled across Ugbrooke some years ago when visiting the Marlborough area, and discovered then that Ugbrooke and its delightful owners (Alex and Peter) really are something really special. Since then, my partner and I have stayed at Ugbrooke every time we have visited the Marlborough area, and we have made a point of unreservedly recommending it to anyone we...

It is good to not over research and let yourself be swept along. This is exactly what we did for two nights after booking Ugbrooke directly from the owners website - first bit of advice to travellers. We could see where it was located and knew that because of the Kaikoura earthquake in November we had to come via Blenheim....

This place has so much potential - and in about 15 years with the money that it needs it will be there. It is NOT a grand country estate; it was once Now it is under the loving hands of folks who are trying to make it work. It has the original wallpaper and ceilings of 1903 but that's about...

I'm sorry your experience wasn't a good one Victoria. It is important to point out to readers that you were on a day tour from a cruise ship and didn't stay overnight. Our feedback to date on this day trip organized by a tour company has been excellent. It is also important to point out to readers that we are...

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst exploring the Marlborough Wine region and found it to be an enjoyable stay. The hosts are friendly and welcoming and provided us with some good recommendations along the trail. The house is an old stately home (NZ old) which is well looked after. The breakfast is continental with croissants from the local bakery....

Thank you so much Clive for your lovely review. It was so nice to meet you both. I'm sorry that you were perhaps not totally apprised of where we are situated which is, as you now know is 25 minutes out of town, and of course Bookings. Because of the road closures we had to take the inland route from Christchurch to Blenheim, but nine of that disappointed! The drive was magnificent and the longer trip was completely worthwhile when we arrived at Ugbrooke. What a beautiful and historic homestead. I could just hear the walls talking of days gone by on this beautiful and picturesque country...
