We stayed one night at Garden Stay B&B. What a great find - easy walking down to CBD, close to restaurants and inner city attractions, quiet, spacious, beautiful restoration of an old villa, friendly and welcoming hosts - perfect.

We wish that Rob and Mary had stayed longer than one night as the conversations were so interesting! Next time we'll pick up where we left off. Thank you for the kind comments, much appreciated. Sally and Neil

The home is an incredible place in a perfect location with exceptional hosts. Our rooms were very comfortable and it was so wonderful to have such nice and knowledgable hosts to help us navigate the lovely city. The location is superb for seeing all the major sights of the city (it is right next to the Botanical Gardens!) and for...

Thank you again for the wonderful visit, John and Diane. I mistakenly replied to another review believing it was from this couple - apologies to both couples! We were privileged to host John and Diane and enjoyed every moment we spent with them. During a brief cold snap we even got to enjoy a couple of hours with them in...

Stayed for three nights as part of four week holiday driving around New Zealand. The property is well situated with some good local restaurants but the main city is only a short bus ride (reasonable walk) away. We were made most welcome; Neil makes an excellent cup of tea with very tasty homemade ginger biscuits and we had several interesting...

Thank you again for the wonderful visit, John and Diane. We were privileged to host this charming couple and enjoyed every moment we spent with them. During a brief cold snap we even got to enjoy a couple of hours with them in front of our open fire, it was a delightful evening. Being so widely traveled, like all of...

The house is extremely well located for walking into the Botanical Gardens and to center city Wellington. There are several restaurants and a convenience store within two blocks. The hosts are very welcoming, friendly and informative and are delightful to get to know. They provide printed information for walking in Wellington, getting to the ferry, etc. The guest area is...

Thank you for the very generous review of our humble B&B! We did enjoy hosting these very interesting guests, probably the most interesting guests of the season. One of the great things about hosting is that we meet widely traveled, accomplished people and we draw out their stories. It's always a pleasure, especially as we only have one party at...

Myself and Karin thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The pictures do not do the house justice...simply superb. And being located within walking distance of the central city makes for simple planning. And Neil and Sally helped us find a great restaurant (Mr Chow's), visit a great museum (Te Papa) and get to the ferry.

Thank you for the wonderful review! We enjoy having New Yorkers come and visit and to hear the latest news from the city. The best part about our B and B is the guests. We're in the fortunate position of having only one group at a time, so there's always time to talk over a glass of wine. Cheers!

Our stay in Gardens Homestay was one of our best highlight for our 3 weeks visit to NZ. Neil and Sally are the perfect hosts, they are very thoughtful, helpful and have a incredibly warmth heart. Having Terry, Sharon and Chloe (9) stay with us was a real treat, it was like having close family members visit! We're flattered to read that we were a highlight of their trip and I hope that they will visit again someday. Making sure that everything is "just right" for the guests is what we love to do and so...

We stayed with Neil and Sally during a 2 week tour of New Zealand and experienced a very enjoyable visit with them in their gorgeous home overlooking Wellington. It was such a pleasure to have Kevin and his extended family come and visit. We always love to host Americans as both Sally and I have lived there for extended periods of our lives and we love the United States as we love New Zealand. Interesting political talks from the other side of the spectrum which is much more...

I chose Neil and Sally's vintage ambience home for a night stay. It was as described and interiors were luxurious and tastefully done. We reached around 1130pm and Neil received us well and helped with luggage as well. A beautiful bed and we were dreaming merinos and stars. Got to relish a sumptuous breakfast(vegetarian) with home made marmalade too. Could...

What a pleasure to host Murali and his family. As a retired General in the Indian Army Murali is a very interesting and accomplished man. I'm just sorry that the family weren't staying longer as people like these are so interesting to meet. We enjoyed their stay as much as they enjoyed staying here! Thank you Murali!

Close to the city, so easy walking to the cit, waterfront and everything Wellington has to offer. Friendly hosts. Very comfortable, clean accomodation, lovely antique furntiure in keeping with the historic villa. We would definitely stay here again when in town!

It was nice to receive another positive review bringing our "Very Good" review total to three (our "Excellent" total remains at 69 reviews, and there are no other reviews). Sally and I always enjoy the company of interesting guests, whether around the fire or over breakfast and these guests were no exception. I hope our paths cross again. Neil
