A wonderful old work hotel - wonderful lift experience - just needed a lift attendant as you would find at David Jones I stayed in 407 - 4 th floor - the Top Floor, quiet as it faces the internal light shaft. Well appointed room but missed a desk! A good size bathroom with a bath but does need the...

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. Yes!! I would love to have a lift attendant as well, I am working on it. The grout is all being replaced as we have used too much bleach over the years and now the grout has had it. 407 is our classic single room so we do not have...

Always have a great night staying at the Wellesley. Each room is a little unique and has an old world feel without loosing modern conveniences. Great location near Lambton Quay and the Beehive. I've not had breakfast hear, but I've heard great things about the food from colleagues.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. It is always a pleasure to have you at the hotel sir. Yes the 2 rooms we have at the back of the hotel are quieter which can be useful for those that struggle to sleep in a different bed. We look forward to seeing you again soon

The Wellesley is a great place to stay if you appreciate some old world charm. My room was a little on the dark side, so if you prefer light and bright, you may have to inquire on that point. I liked this aspect of it as I was looking for a sense of enclosure and seclusion, so the lighting wasn't...

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. Yes the hotel is a little on the dark side due to all the oak paneling but on the top floor which is the newest part of the building it is a lot more brighter. Hopefully we can look after you again if you are ever in Wellington

Stayed here second time. Very nice historic place in the heart of Wellington. Stuff I'd helpful and friendly, rooms are spotless clean. Walking distance from shops, cafes and restaurants. Will definitely come back there.

Loved this little hotel, can't beat the location. The food a bit ho hum, but fine if you don't feel like going out. Heaps of wonderful places to eat nearby. My room had the biggest bath and I had just finished hiking so really appreciated it. The bed was the most comfortable I have had for years. I'm not often...

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. All our rooms have baths and some of them are very big, I am so happy you got to have a long soak after a day of hiking. I will pass on your feedback to the executive Chef regarding the food in the cafe. We look forward to seeing you...

This hotel is away from the town center although there are local buses to the center. It is called a "boutique" hotel but this 'modern' description is very deceptive. It is an old hotel that needs to be modernized if it expects to stay in business. There is virtually no service at the weekend; this was particularly tough on us...

Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel. There are maps on the reception desk and we have a live in manager who you could have called to get you a map and given you some suggestions as to where to eat. We tried for 5 years to get our weekend trade going in our cafe and bar...

Very, very poor. Windows in bedroom were rusted, dirty, open and I could not reach the latch (and I'm tall); 'net' curtains in bedroom were creased and dirty; bathroom floor needed a good scrub; in the year of 2017 I would have thought an updated shower together with grab handles could have been installed. I am a lady of 'a...

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. As this is a category 1 heritage building we have to work with Heritage NZ to upgrade all the windows, this process is very slow but we are getting there. I would have been more than happy to close the window for you. The netting gets cleaned every 6 months...

Some of this review is just unlucky and an individual occurrence. We booked 2 separate rooms recently , one for my partner and I and one for my parents who are visiting from the UK. The hotel is very quaint and British, in a good location 5-10 minutes walk from shopping regions. There is a lot of building occurring around...

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We were all very upset that your mum had that unfortunate accident at our hotel. In my time here we have not had an accident like that before. I have checked the shower and it has a ridge on the tiles that is meant to stop any water going onto...

I like old and historic buildings. Boutique hotels often occupy such buildings so I thought this would be a perfect match. Alas not. The building is charming but in need of some refurbishment to bring it back to it's former glory. The rooms are large with correspondingly large bathrooms, which include a separate shower, twin basins and stand alone bath...

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. Yes we do have 2 rooms at the back of the building which do not get as much light as the front. Some guests prefer these room as they are quieter. We were booked into this hotel for 2 nights as part of our 5 week trip across both North and South islands. Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. That is unusual that your map did not have our street on it. Maginnity street is a very old Wellington street so I am surprised it was not on there. I am sorry about the fire alarm going off at 3am. We had a very nervous bride staying with us...
