We absolutely loved the old victorian feel of the bed and breakfast. Our room was great, quiet and comfortable. We had parking right in front of the b&b. Great value for what we payed. Thank you so much to the host, John, for making us feel at home and being so personable. Would definitely stay again next time we come...

When thinking of whether to stay at the Richmond Guest House think about what you want. Walking up to the Guest House you wonder if you made the right choice. Once through the door you are transported back to the way New Zealand use to be; and that is not "use to be" in the pejorative sense. Its not flash,...

This guest house is perfect for those looking to save money who don't plan to stay in bed/in the room all day. It's quirky and cute and makes for interesting conversation while travelling ( which is how the best stories are always made!) Be prepared to go back in time to your grandma's comfy home. It is a no-frills facility....

This was a bad choice. The photos shown on Hotels.com do not correspond to what you get! Issues: - it is at most a 2 star place, an old house converted in a B&B - got room at ground floor, with bad smell on the hall and in the room - windows facing the neighbouring building, 30-40 cm distance -...

Greetings ,and thank you for review and the lovely photos , but to be fair to quote the header Richmond Guest House Bed & Breakfast 2.5 star ( Hotels.com) this is how we are advertised not a big 4 star hotel where you would expect a TV and fridge in your room we advertise as a bed and breakfast and...

The good points are that this place is well located being a 10 minute walk to a couple of good breakfast places in Te Aro (Prefab & l'affaire) and an easy walk to Courtney Place. The bath towels were nice but small and the pricing was probably a fair reflection of the standard of amenity supplied.

Not sure where the photo's came from on the web site but they did not reflect the room we had. It was clean as was the bathroom, but both were very dated and tired. Double bed was pushed against one wall so difficult to get in out of. Communal kitchen and dinning room again tired and some of the chairs...

If you are looking for clean and affordable accommodation, than Richmond Guest House is for you. If you are looking for 5 star accomodation then look elsewhere. We turned up late in the afternoon and there was a vacancy, john was helpful and friendly. The room was clean and maintained and homely. There is a particular charm about the old...

Stayed here for one night. Room was clean and tidy. Basic facilities but all you need if not planning on spending much time there. Free breakfast was perfect. We had choice of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, juice, toast with spreads, and lots of different types of cereals. Free Car park was greatly appreciated. The service was very friendly. The only...

We spent a week at Richmond guest house. Everybody was kind and made us feel like at home. The hotel is located 20 minutes far from the city center and has all facilities. Very good breakfast, laundry service, fresh towels every day and free newspaper. A particular thanks to Rose for her kindness. Totally recommended!

Room was nice and clean as was the whole guest house. John the owner was very friendly, helpful and chatty. Simple continental breakfast in the morning. Price matched my expectations. If you're looking for luxury, this isn't your place. If you're looking for a simple, clean place to stay, then this is your place.
