This hotel advertises under very dated information/pics. The Willis Lodge is antiquated with no update work on property maintenance that I can see, only doing 'patch up' jobs to hide problems from tenants. My room was a sodden mess which management had tried to hide with a rough wall paper patch up job, paper moldy within a week. Building leaks...

It felt like they didn't want my business, that they were doing me favours. I won't be coming back. It also took a while to organise the accommodation because I was looking to do an extended stay. This took much longer than I had anticipated, Simon Burges (The hotel Manager) was in no hurry to respond and at times had...

So, here we were. 3 guys wanting to share an apartment that had 3 bedrooms. We needed our space ( one of us snored !!) Willis Lodge is very conveniently located, walking distance to cafes, to the waterfront, even walking distance to Westpac stadium to watch the AFL match. Comfortable beds, new appliances, 2 bathrooms. I didn't mind paying for...

I drove past the place twice before finding the entrance to the car park. The first floor room was adequate Breakfast was available on a tray delivered to your room. We elected not to order as there was a reasonable small cafe within walking distance. We stayed two nights so that we could enjoy sightseeing in Wellington before catching a...

Having stayed at this Hotel in the past I was bitterly disappointed to find it is now a backpackers annex. The website had not changed so expected the same homely atmosphere and wonderful personal service we had enjoyed previously. We arrived late from the Interisland ferry and had to juggle our own luggage, find the room, let ourselves in-not a soul in sight. The "voice"...

We have been regulars for a number of years – the location handy to the motorway, free parking and comfortable rooms suit. Received a very warm welcome from the interim Manager who mentioned upcoming opening specials. Ideally suited to professionals visiting Wgtn for work, or tourists passing through. Bathrooms and TVs are older but everything is clean, comfortable and well...

Rooms were clean and comfortable, if a bit dated (the bathroom in particular had fixtures seemingly from the 70's). Free parking was particularly welcome. However, the hotel appeared to be entirely un-staffed from our afternoon arrival right through to departure. Checkin was accomplished by ringing a phone number to retrieve a lockbox code for the keys. Checkout meant leaving the...

Situated close by the cafe & entertainment areas of Wellington, Hotel Willis is a little dated, but has reasonable sized rooms, is clean & quiet.

I would personally recommend anyone this hotel. A fantastic location, handy to the city, and most importantly, kind and friendly staff.

I have enjoyed the accommodation of Hotel Willis on several occasions in the last twelve months. On each visit I have been made very welcome and provided with a room that is comfortably appointed and furnished. The beds in particular are great. All the amenities have worked well and I have enjoyed a leisurely breakfast in the dining room with...
