We arrived very late and were sent instructions to the lock box and how to find our room so the service was good but the room was terrible and the smallest double I have ever seen (1 foot of space each side of the bed). No soundproofing between rooms, the bathroom and decor have not been updated since the 80's....

We arrived early and the lovely friendly young man allowed us to check in early. The room was very spacious, very clean and had everything we needed for our stay with the added bonus of off street parking. It is very close to Te papa, oriental parade and the basin. No complaints here.. Thank you

Stayed here for a couple of nights on the last leg of my sons School Rugby Tour. Brilliant location, a delightful building with free parking adjacent to the CBD, very handy Staff were full......cheerful & helpful. Room(#3) was as I like it, basic whilst delivering all that was needed. Being adjacent to Reception, the wifi was strong & fast. Shower...

Was pleasantly surprised with the room. Although the hotel is dated and old fashioned, the room was clean, tidy and had everything I needed. Room included tea/coffee making facilities, small fridge and tv. It is so handy to Courtney Place. Traffic noise wasn't too bad, but it was a Thursday night so not sure what the weekend would be like....

Halswell Lodge is located right downtown Wellington, within walking distance to Te Papa Museum, the waterfront walk, and good restaurants. The staff was friendly and nice. Our room was situated in the back of the complex in the brick house. Our room was the Luxury King Spa. It was large, airy, faced west and was very quiet. The bathroom had...

A great place to stay on a budget right in the city. Not good for people with wheel chairs or people who have trouble walking as the stair case is quite steep, you could walk up the drive way around the back but again it's quite steep. The room was small but plenty of room for Mum & I. The...

Old hotel, but clean, cheap, with a safe parking lot. Nice receptionist, helpful and welcoming. Close to bars and restaurants, close to port where you embark. It's a good value for one night rest before going south.

Yes the location to Wellingtons attractions is great and a myriad of restaurants and bars just down the road make Halswell Lodge ideal for a short or extended stay. Thanks for taking time to review. Hope to see you again.

Older property so most rooms are either small or teensy. But #12 at the front of the building is large and has a complete kitchen and a small balcony. Parking is up a really steep hill that's scary the first time you do it! About 4 blocks to TePapa museum so easily walkable.

Room 12 is the great choice for budget travelers as it has been very popular and get booked out quickly. Once again Halswell Lodge's wonderful location and access to all Wellington has to offer is highlighted. The car parking is a bonus in a city that is designed to be walked. Thanks for taking time to share.

Room was Very small. The top mattress overlapped the base of the bed. The bathroom door couldn't close properly and kept getting stuck. Over priced for the smallest room ive Ever seen!!Never going back there again. 👎👎

We are so disappointed the guest felt unfairly treated and to receive such comments. Halswell Lodge has been commited to continuously upgrade, while this process is still underway there may have been some areas that has not meet guest's expectation. It has been gratifying to note all guests have been understanding of the fact. We can assure all guests our...

We had a two bedroom apartment for our last two nights in NZ. Easy to find and with parking the location is great and the price is right. A comfortable stay, the apartment had everything we needed, not stylish or charming but well equipped with all the basics and quiet at night. Everything we wanted to see and do was...
