Detailed Reviews
I stayed at the hotel for a work trip. The hotel was very centrally located close to many restaurants bars attractions. The restaurant had a decent menu and a good breakfast option which was included with the room. Room service is not available but you can call down to the restaurant and go and collect your meal. Using this option the meals are put on a tray with cutlery and everything is provided as though it were room service. I selected the larger room which was huge by hotel standards. The room was well fitted out with a an ironing board as well as a wall mounted TV with HDMI port accessible so I could attach my Google TV and watch programming from home.
The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the hot water in the shower needed to be constantly adjusted during shower, so by the time you got to the end of the shower you needed to be in the fully hot position to maintain any temperature and you needed to adjust the hot water about 10 times in a 10 minute shower.
The room is also missing safe which would’ve been a good addition and also no microwave oven.

We stayed for three nights in a comfortable room on the 8th floor. Had the interior designers managed to fit in a slightly bigger bathroom and a small table with two chairs, a five star rating would be applicable! Notwithstanding, the room aircon/heating worked quickly to warm the room, the beds were the usual high quality Accor Hotel standard, as was daily housekeeping, clean bathroom, fresh towels each day. Enough room to tuck away luggage (to keep it out of the way of the house keeping staff) under the bench and desk.
A hot buffet breakfast was offered as part of our package and it too was up to the usual Accor Hotel standard.
The room had an iron and ironing board, hairdryer, extra pillows and a blanket stowed in the wardrobe.
The hotel was well located in the north of the city, one block from Queens Wharf and a pleasant walk over to two museums, the Cable Car and all the fashion clothing stores. And the Lego store!

On arrival we were greeted by very friendly and helpful reception staff who provided us with a map and clearly marked the location of the hotel plus places we wished to go.
Unfortunately the reception staff on duty next morning were very different, no smiles and no offer to assist with information or directions. Very disappointing after the excellent staff on arrival
Although our room was not overly spacious we had sufficient room and the bed and linen were fine. Pleased to see there was no decorative pile of cushions on the bed which have to be removed and placed somewhere out of the way.
The lighting was very good, especially the bedside lights - great for those who like to read in bed.
An iron and ironing board were in the room and the guest laundry was close by on the same floor.
The maintenance staff are excellent- a minor problem was rectified very quickly by a most pleasant young man
Meals are available in the downstairs restaurant.
Most attractions are within easy walking distance.
Taxis are parked right outside most of the time.

Great location right near the front and walking distance from everything. Only 20 mins to airport by car. Clean and comfy, choice of pillows. No complaint about room at all, it was just a 'standard' room too. Perfectly acceptable. Small car park $35 per night, needs booking in advance or they have an arrangement of $40 with the TSB Arena a few streets away. Good breakfast, busy place, seats near the windows so can watch the city bustling by. Only complaint would be the rude middle aged man on reception when we checked in. Parking had been overlooked by my T.Agent so he whipped out a map and started rapidly pointing to places to park in the one way nightmare that is Wellington. Firstly, I don't drive, need glasses to see tiny maps and couldn't understand his English. I asked for a pen to write it down and mark the map for my husband and he sighed and said ' for the 3rd time' and started pointing to areas on the map. I was shocked to be fair but finally got the map marked up, left the cases and we drove off, looking for the parking at the Arena suggestion. He had not told me there was an arrangement or what to do, turns out you exchange the parking ticket you got on entry, for one of their own pre printed ones to insert on exit and it only changes you $40 not whatever it should. The lady on reception told us this later. I didn't get his name in the rush as we were in a 10 min parking slot and stressing about that. Wellington is a great place with lots to do, you don't need a fancy hotel there are plenty of eating places in walking distance. It can be cold!

The hotel is clean, tidy and has all you need for a short stay. The continental breakfast is very simple yet adequate, but not sure it’s worth $30 per head. There was no hot water for three mornings in a row, besides colleagues and myself letting reception know every day. Got used to cold showers!

Hotel is fine, clean, good beds, coffee and tea facilities.
Nearby are restaurants within walking distance.
The hotel is located on a busy street but you are not bothered.
You can have breakfast across the street, is often cheaper than in the hotel itself.

The Ibis Wellington is situated in a central area of town. Has pleasant and helpful staff, good food and clean facilities. The room however I would rate as 2 out of 5. Aircon so hot it was hard to sleep and room the size of a large cupboard for a high price with a non working fridge. Won’t be going back.

Have stayed at this Ibis in central Wellington twice now, and it never disappoints = you know just what you'll get; clean and functional spaces, rooms, bathrooms etc. Breakfast was very good also, and plentiful. Pleasant staff throughout also; an all-round positive experience as part of work travels.
Although Ibis is predominantly a budget hotel brand elsewhere in the world, such as Europe - this hotel is priced for location, and the local market; hence mid-range.

Stayed for 4 nights and was a great stay. The location is great and beds were comfy. Close to the Gondola and Mount Victoria. If you want to use the gym you are allowed to use the one at the Novotel which is close by. Amazing reception staff always happy to help. The house keeping was a bit average on some days as it took 2 days to clean the sink properly and remove some paper off the ground. Otherwise very hard to fault for the price paid.

Yes there is a good carpark with generous spaces in basement but you must pre-book.
You would definitely book, and yes they have a 24 hour checkin
Yes there is a laundry on the 1st and 9th floor there is a cost not sure how much but wouldn't be very much.
I can’t see why not but best to call the hotel and just check. Cheers
It’s limited parking and you book in advance best to phone the hotel and ask
