Perfect for a few days 'getaway' in central Wellington very close to the restaurants and night life of Courtenay Place and the day strolling around the brilliant wharf areas and Oriental Parade. The décor is unusual and while initial impressions are of over opulent darkness - it really works to display and set-off the many and varied art works. The...

Perfectly located over the road from Te Papa, lovely view of harbor and hop skip and jump from beautiful eateries. The Art Hotel is a fine example of the 'Kiwi ego'. Firstly, the staff we dealt with were incredibly helpful and when it came time to voice concerns over the status of the maintenance and cleanliness of our room they...

Nice spacious room with balcony over looking Te Papa great for walking about locally. Facilities in room really good radio and separate ipod charger. Coffee maker awesome with lots of choice. One slight criticism would be bath and shower screen. We both fond climbing over the huge marble lip rather dangerous and my partner 6'6 Inc and even he struggled....

Nice atmosphere but noticed little things like the windows being dirty in both our room and the restaurant as well as the grouting in the tiles in the bathroom being dirty. Lovely amenities but room quite small.

We'd been told you don't need a hire car in Wellington so we picked the Museum Art Hotel for its central location. Strike one. The interior was quite different to most hotels, doubling as an art gallery, while paying homage to Hobart's MONA gallery. strike two. For our last night, we splashed out on the in house restaurant's six course...

This is a hotel that has seen better days; a shabby chic style that is all shabby and no chic. We spent one night at this hotel. The hotel is near the harbor with many restaurants within walking distance. The hotel had a notable art collection. Our room was small, dark, dirty, with multiple stains in the carpet, water stains, wallpaper...

I'm not one to usually complain but I've been traveling to and from Wellington for business this year and stayed in many motels and hotels. I've payed top dollar to stay at this establishment and I'm appalled at the lack of hygiene. Other hotels with lower ratings and cheaper prices have been much cleaner! I'm not just talking about cob...

A regular with business, the Museum is a welcome break from faceless corporate chains. Smattering of beautiful art pieces, and very comfortable and well serviced rooms make this a great hotel. Friendly staff, clean rooms, a small gym and handy location make this a perfect stay in Wellington.
