Great service! I do think however the regime of food should be revised. Bland at times but buffet is good as u can try all the different varieties. Overall experience and service was of quality. Location is superb with easy access to central CBD

We were passing through Wellington with an early start the following morning to catch the ferry to Picton and decided on a stay at the James Cook. I booked a family suite through Expedia. Parking our car to check in was decidedly difficult owing to two buses parked in the bay - if you don't know where you are going... More

Good sized clean rooms, two restaurants to choose from, spa, gym, conference facilities, central location. Definitely ticks most boxes, though I'm spoiled enough to notice that there was no pillow menu. Room service delivers quality food (marbled beef rib eye steak with truffle flavoured French fries in my case). Good breakfast buffet with an omelette chef. On the down side,... More

I had one night in the James Cook Chancellor this time, and found them to be helpful friendly as I have any time I have stayed. I have used James cook Chancellor many times over the years, comparably it is one of the best hotels in the area for value and creating a relaxing environment to stay.

Enjoyed my stay, the location is excellent and it is almost next door to a Countdown which is convenient. Centrally located for access to shopping and to visit the Parliament building. The breakfast was expensive but there are lots of options nearby.

We always stay at the James Cook when in Wellington. Very central location, good value, and clean. We don't eat here we use it as a place sleep. If you want luxury this is not for you, but it is perfect for us. Having access to the quay means you can return for a shower, nap or jumper at anytime.... More

The James cook was pleasant. The room was well maintained and a good size. Two major flaws : very limited wifi and a cost to use the business center and an extra fee to use credit for the room. There is a restaurant . We did not dine at the hotel. Staff was friendly.
