We had the misfortunate to stay in one of the hotel suites whilst there was a MainFreight conference in the hotel. In an extremely considerate fashion, several attendees decided to have Zumba classes in the hotel gym at 5.45 am, inducing taking along their own speakers to play loud music. So, as you may imagine sleep was rather disrupted. Even without the music the pounding of the running machine at 6am is enough to wake you, if you are unlucky placed in these rooms. Besides this we found the decor of the suite to be dated, and quite frankly rather grim; if brutalist architecture is your thing you may like it though. We thought: cold, empty, and unwelcoming

Enjoyed the stay in this Hotel. Room was clean and the facilities provided were up to the mark. I was here for work training. The catering throughout the day was quite versatile and was delicious. Even the restaurant food is better its only that there are very less options for vegetarian food. Overall I will definitely recommend the stay.

My stay at James cook was amazing. The room was clean, friendly check in staff great facilities I’m impressed. Would like to mention specifically the housekeepers Abel and Renee they were so friendly helpful and approachable when I saw them. Absolutely amazing from them even though they don’t deal with guests directly they made my stay even more memorable and enjoyable. You guys are absolute super stars!!!

When we arrived and realised we had booked the wrong night and that the hotel was full and we still had to pay for the night we didn’t need I burst in to tears but the friendly staff at reception assured us that they would sort it all out for us, found us another room, the manager waived the fee and we had a wonderful stay. Clean and tidy - Thankyou so much!!

Staff were friendly and went above and beyond to provide an amazing service. The gentlemen playing the piano in the evening was a beautiful touch. The in room dining menu was delicious and well presented. Would highly recommend
