We loved the idea of the modern-esque rooms being basically scattered on the hill of a sheep pasture; very kiwi feeling! The views were beautiful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Unfortunately they only had one night availability otherwise I'd likely have stayed another night and spend the day wandering the grounds and visiting the river walk (while my...

Set well away from the road in rolling farm land, this is a tranquil setting, with a number of small blocks of rooms well separated by paddocks. As a light sleeper, it's very quiet - ideal! The room I had was large for a NZ motel, and at one end had a large set of sliding doors that opened onto...

When you combine value for money, size of accommodation, decor and quality of fittings and view and location this was the best place that we stayed in our entire month. We photographed kingfisher and Tui from the room and had a view of both the river and the lush woodland on the other bank. Although out of New Plymouth it...

This place was definitely one of the best places we stayed on our three week drive around the north island of NZ. What a location, with the river below and landscaped gardens an ideal spot to kick back. One thing though, be careful about lying in bed with the curtains open, as you share the garden area with other guest,...

10 minute drive from central New Plymouth to this peaceful haven. Modern, classy apartments with everything you need. Friendly, helpful management who know how to car for customers. Ideal for visits to Tupare and other parks or Mt Taranaki.

This place is absolutely beautiful. Situated on a lovely rushing river with very simple and modern garden designs, the rooms are well-set up and lovely. We were in an elite studio on the second floor with a great view of the river. The bathtub in the middle of the room/by the window is lovely and there is a kitchen that...

We were really excited about this hotel, and at first glance everything was living up to expectations. There is a really nice river walk below the rooms (which we didn't get to do), which are modern looking and appear quite peaceful. Staff were very welcoming and upgraded us to an executive suite. Unfortunately the room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke,...

We stayed for a night during a stop over at New Plymouth. It was a little tricky to find the place in the dark. But after successfully locating it (about 5-10 minutes before the City Centre), it was a pleasant surprise. Stayed in a studio. Spacious. Well equipped. Clean. Luxurious with a simplistic touch. Rated by the family as the...

If you want to be close to the coast and out of the city then this is the place to be. Set in quiet rural surroundings with a beautiful outlook over a river valley run by friendly hosts who are a treasure trove of information about places to visit and places not to bother about. Well priced. We will definitely...

Stayed here for 4 nights for a family function. Efficient booking system. Friendly reception. Modern décor with all the necessary. View over paddocks ,well designed gardens ,remnant bush in the distance, and limited river views .A 5 min drive into town - worth it for the peace - no asphalt and no traffic. Generally clean but kitchen handles had smears...
