I spent 2 nights here. Loved the setting next to the river. For a solo traveller like me it's a bit boring; there are only families. The kitchen is scarcely equipped and there are no extras such as salt and pepper. The shared facilities are very rudimentary; you don't want to spend too much time in the kitchen or lounge.

When we first arrived in Rotorua we booked into a Top 10 caravan park recommended by friends; we hated it, felt like we were in a car park with other travelers right next to us, absolutely no privacy! so decided to search for another place to stay. We googled and found Waiteti Trout Stream Holiday Park it sounded interesting so... More

My friend and I were on a road trip around the North Island and stopped in Rotorua. We found this place in the NZ Lonely Planet book and saw they had free kayaks and it was only $50 a night for a private room. When we arrived, we were greeted by the very friendly owner Mike and he sorted us... More

We booked a 2-night powered site for our campervan in this holiday park. I requested a parking lot by the stream and thanks to the owner, we had one. Upon arrival, my children were given ice cream and the use of a fishing rod. Stream running at the end of the campsite was clean and clear. My children love the... More

We read all these good reviews and decided to stay at waiteti trout resort. Place itself not bad. However for us it was the Worst Experience Ever. Here is why. We were finishing dinner at the kitchen at around 22:05. Then park keeper came and asked us to empty facility. We were collecting our stuff but after 15 seconds suddenly... More

Great, clean facility, friendly & generous owner...we were upgraded free of charge and loaned a spinning rod for our adventures. Easy 250m, bucolic walk to Lake Rotorua. Harvey, the Troutman, was insightful & reasonably priced. We would come again!

What a great find. We were looking for somewhere to stay for 4 nights to check out the area. We got a 4 for 3 nights deal in a motel-style unit. Very roomy, would sleep 5. Self contained kitchen. BBQ at back door. Our dog was allowed to run leash free out the back. She loved it. Lots of other... More

Stayed here for the last few days, relaxing and learning to fly fish. harvey the Troutman is a great patient teacher who charges a very reasonable price for his lessons. A real asset to the tourism industry in Rotorua. Accommodation is equally reasonable (~$100/night) and the studio apartment I stayed in was spacious and had everything I needed and more.... More

My husband and I stayed here in our campervan for 6 nights, making it our base for sightseeing the North island . What a gem of a place! The manager Michael, a delightful and knowledgable man gave us a discount also. Set on a trout stream full of ducks and swans which were so friendly you could hand feed. The... More
