We were checked in by the young lady who has a good knowledge of the attractions, She gave us some suggestions and discount voucher. We’re in good location, not far from anywhere.

I paid cash on arrival, the next day I realized i should have paid on my international credit card. I spoke to the manager Morgan, he gave me the refund in cash and charged the credit card without any hesitation. I work in the industry, it can be annoying to change the payment method especially do it the next day.

Night time we came home to enjoy the jacuzzi in our backyard, it is very private area, we did it again in the morning before we left.

I am very fuzzy with the toiletries, the bathroom amenities are made in nz products with honey, it smell and feel reli good, i did not need to use my own product.

We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this motel!! Thank you for your hospitality

Bargain! A lovely motel at a reasonable and fair price is hard to find these days and Capri is definitely value for money with wonderful service. Firstly I would like to say thank you to lovely Faye who helped us when we first arrived and booked into the hotel in the late afternoon after a horrible experience elsewhere, also to Morgan who was down to earth and a pleasure to deal with in the morning when checking out.

Before booking into Capri we had a bad experience at another motel so my partner and I decided to do a random stop along the road and came across Carpi, before committing to another place my partner went in and asked to look at a room if there was one available and to our delight there was availability and the room was lovely and just what we were looking for! Here’s the best part it even cost the same as the dump we just left and was 100%+ better in every single way.

Well done Capri we definitely can’t fault you on your service you were absolutely delightful to deal with both checking in and out so thank you very much for your kindness. Our room was lovely and modern and the decor was well done with great NZ flavour to it, we felt comfortable and happy and will definitely return next time we are down in Rotorua.

For my partner the best part of the room was how clean it was, there was absolutely no dust or anything else we could fault, it felt clean and well looked after.

We would recommend stopping in for the service, the quality and the affordability they give to their customers.

The hotel is a bit of a walk up from city center, bus stop across the street, every room has a "spa"! The manager keeps it up quite nicely and lives on site. Comes with small kitchen that is equipped and instant coffee and tea. During season there is a horse race site a couple blocks away which I would have loved to witness had I been there in season. Bathroom with shower and nice toiletries complimentary including one for the "spa" so it gets all "bubbly"! The manager helped me with a logistic hiccup, and on my last day when I had to be at the bus downtown early, he offered to drive me. He would be my reason to ever return, if that can ever be. The WIFI was fine as was the TV. It was a comfortable stay of 3 nights.

The 2 bedroomed apartment was spacious and well stocked with towels, beverages and even a breakfast pack (daily!) and a fresh bottle of milk.
Parking right outside is a bonus for me as I travel with my mobility scooter,
Plenty of space to bring my scooter into the apartment. The large TV and multiple Sky channels were a bonus for watching Rugby, Cricket and Football early morning. The location was great for a number of local attractions, Whakarewarewa and Redwoods Memorial Grove both within walking distance/scooter range. A number of decent pubs and eateries are also within easy walking distance. Hosts made us very welcome

I stayed for two nights. Very good service and the owner, Morgen is genuine and very friendly he makes me feel like home. I enjoyed his joke” Dont worry about the water in Spa we have plenty here’ indirectly he reminds me that I am from Auckland a place where water restrictions now. The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. The location on Fenton street is walkable distance to town, restaurants, supermarkets, and tourist activities. I enjoyed having a spa both days. There was only one problem: placing of power plugs close to the bed in the room in a very hidden place and no bed lamps for reading. Come back another time. Highly recommended.

We had just completed a very long drive and pleased to arrive at our Motel. Instead of just handing us the room key, Morgan led the way to our unit, and opened it up,checking that we had everything we needed. Such a lovely gesture, and on New Year's Eve too. We were particularly impressed with the owners commitment to being involved in their local community by supporting parents of children who have had or undergoing treatment for child cancer. Upon checking out I had an extremely interesting conversation about accommodation in Rotorua, and the emerging challenges occasioned by Air BNBs - This is a motel I will be pleased to return to and would encourage others to support a place with such a great kaupapa.

This place covers all the basics extremely well, from Morgen sending messages to check on our travel plan and greeting us on arrival, to the ample tea selection and cleanliness of the rooms, it was all so easy to relax and enjoy our visit. The thermal-heated water in the private outdoor (covered) spa bath is a game changer for us and has brought us back to this location again and again. Its a little thing, but the dome covered shower allows maximum thermal water exposure and a quick warm up when it's a bit fresh outside ... bliss!

Really enjoyed this quality motel for a stay in Rotorua for a long weekend with my husband. Quiet, extremely clean, and convenient, with a great manager and a friendly motel cat. Great for active travellers with a car - it's about 1.5k from central Rotorua. I've stayed at a lot of NZ motels, so trust me, this one is tops!

This modern motor lodge has an old-school layout, where you park your car in front of your room. We didn't hear noise from the parking lot or from other guests the entire time we were there on a school holiday weekend.

The bedroom had an excellent bed, medium-firm with pure cotton sheets. Curtains could block all the light from the patio door, if desired. From the bedroom you could walk out onto a modest porch with its own smooth round spa bath. We loved the spa bath and used it every night!

The living room had just enough space for hiking and swimming gear as well as chilling out. The patio would also be a good space to dry out wet hiking or swimming gear.

We cooked once using the equipped kitchenette - most appreciated. There was a covered outdoors barbecue area, too, with a grill and a table that could seat eight people.

The bathroom was small, with GOOD soaps and a door for toilet privacy. The shower was on the small side, too. With this shower I'd stay in this room as an adult or with older children who could handle their own showering, not with a baby or toddler.

This room had it all.. It was large and the extra large bed was the most comfortable we've slept in on our travels. It had a small compact and more than adequate kitchen area with microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle. Tea, coffee and milk were also provided. The bathroom had a large spa bath with a shower above but there were no facilities to start the bath up!
There was no a/c but a fan was provided.
I'm sure there are better class hotels in the area but this place exceeded all expectations for the price. Conveniently situated with a great friendly host, I would definitely recommend it.

By far the best motel we've ever stayed at.
The host is very friendly and welcoming.
The room has a spa,sky TV with plenty of channels, a complimentary coffee/tea container with extras like orange juice,3 teas, plunger coffee, biscuits. Spa with bubbles. Comfy bed warm rooms. And the crowning glory the price was about $20 cheaper than those around that offered less. Definitely worth putting on top of your list. We will always look Capri up first from now on.

Answer from MorgenNZ

Hi Pipo, We have top of the range sleepyhead beds. Most people comment on how comfortable they are. Some say they are firm and some say they are soft so it is really up to the individual guests reaction. All our rooms are on the ground floor. Kind regards, Morgen.
