Carol provided delicious breakfasts and tea and cake every afternoon and Ken helped me make the most of my time in the area with suggestions about where to visit and how to get there; he even provided...

Carol & Ken were perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed home made cake on arrival where they described in detail the area and amenities. The bedroom was lovely with superb views over the lake and the bathroom was extremely well fitted out. We joined them for a glass of wine before we walked up to the local...

Although not kiwis by birth, Carol and Ken of The Lake House B&B embody the high standard of hospitality we encountered during our stay in New Zealand, plus some! Carol would fall over herself to entertain any whim of her guests and both ensure that very well-considered holiday advice is always on hand. Every potential need of a guest has...

Travelling with Sue (who has MS) is always difficult but we planned to see a bit of NZ this time while visiting our daughter near Opotiki. Webooked 2 nights, then added a third and a fourth. I think that Carol thought we were never going to leave.

This was my final stop after almost 2 weeks of hiking the Milford Track, Abel Tasman, Bay of Islands and other areas of the north and south islands with friends. It was a perfect end to a great trip. With only 2 guest rooms you can't help but feel like a part of the family. The house is located in...
