Come here quite often, amazing atmosphere, great people, world class antics. BA is just a step above, with the spa/pool, clean facilities and gorgeous staff, would recommend it to anyone in the area, or thinking about planning a trip to the vibrant North! Josh and Manuel are top lads, great banter, always down for a brew

The place is big...facilities not bad...but i only recommend it if you are a German teenager or on your early twenties and feels like spending the night in a BierGarten. Noisy till late, rubbish and bottles everywhere in the morning. Not too clean overcrowded kitchen.

I spent a night here with a small tour group and when we arrived in the afternoon, there were a few people hanging out in the common areas. The toilets and showers were nice and clean and there was lots of space to hang your clothes. There was no air conditioning in the room, but our room was on the... More

Recently spent 3 weeks here with my partner after having also stayed for a week after Christmas. We came back as Paihia is a great place and this hostel is excellent, great facilities with the pool and hot tub, 2 kitchens and 2 sets of toilets/showers. Also have the tennis courts and 2 separate tv lounges. It's a great atmosphere,... More

I stayed in Bay Adventurer over the weekend of 19-21 February 2016, having previously stayed several times in Saltwater Lodge (which was excellent). I was put in Room 18, which was like an oven, and very dirty, and the shared bathroom had lots of green mould in the shower. I could not sleep, and developed a severe allergic reaction to... More

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay at Bay Adventurer. The staff was really helpful when we needed anything and was very friendly. The dorm rooms are basic and ok, I have nothing to complain about them. The kitchen and the showers could have been a little bit more clean. Good atmosphere, but can get a bit noisy in... More

Stayed here with other people because they picked it. Yes it definitely has good facilities in terms of pool, hot tub, tennis courts etc. However dorm rooms were crowded and hot and curtains had some holes in. Also some dorms obviously had long term residents which were filthy as a result with stuff spewing out of the doorways onto the... More

Stayed for a few nights this week. Check in was quick and was given tour of the place. Staff seemed to be friendly enough, particularly with the long termer's which is nice to see. Stayed in Dorm for 6 people, a little cramped with backpacks but was clean and had a comfortable bed. Bathrooms need to be modernised, look old... More

This hostel was nice, the rooms were comfortable (apart from the heat and lack of air conditioning) due to it being 30 degrees plus I had to be out of my 6 share dorm by around 9am as outside was hotter than in. Upon arrive the kitchen was filthy however this was cleaned pretty much as we arrived. The fridges... More
