First impressions were, spacious, clean and spectacular views from the balcony! A 3-5 minute walk to everything-depending on how far you walk. Handy to ferries.cafes & restaurants, what more could you want .

My husband and I stayed at this motel for 2 nights and found it well worth the money we paid! It was clean and supplied all the amenities we needed for our stay! It was well located and the staff were welcoming and helpful! Could have asked for more!

We shared a one bedroom apartment overlooking the Bay of Islands, such a beautiful view! The unit was modern and practically furnished - with the bedroom and lounge areas overlooking the water. The dining and kitchen area and the bathroom and toilet were towards the rear. There were no meals provided, but restaurants, cafes and shops were in easy walking...

We stayed, as a family of five, in the Breakwater Motel. From there we conveniently explored the nice town of Paihia and its surroundings. The motel room was very tidy and had all the space and amenities a family with young kids need. Lyn was very helpful when we wanted to store some bags while going on a sail trip....

Lyn and Ken are the friendly and helpful owners and managers of Breakwater. I opted for a one-bedroom apartment which was refreshingly contemporary and much more impressive than the Auckland 4-star hotels I stayed in before and after Bay of Islands. Ken saved me from making the mistake of staying inland to visit Cape Reinga and Lyn pointed me in...

Lyn was very welcoming when we arrived and promptly supplied us with our key, a local timetable for the ferry, and a bottle of milk. She also asked if we needed any information on local activities Our beachfront room was perfect. The cleanliness was second to none and I am fussy. The rooms were very tastefully decorated. The kitchen was...

We stayed at the Breakwater during our honeymoon trip in New Zealand and we have to say, it was absolutely perfect! Lyn was super helpful and even volunteered to switch out our laundry while we went to dinner! She and Ken gave us some great tips and suggestions as well. As for our room, we weren't expecting an apartment! It...

This is a lovely motel conveniently located in the centre of Pahia. We stayed in one of the rooms with a gorgeous view out to sea. The rooms are very well equipped and spotlessly clean. It is a short walk along to the ferry where you can catch a boat over to Russell for a few hours and it is...

This hotel is ideally situated, two minutes from the wharf area, shops, bars and cafes etc. Our room had a lovely view overlooking the sea and an area with an outdoor table and chairs to enjoy the view from. Room was well appointed.

We stayed for 6 nights from 27th February 2017 in a waterfront suite on the Upper-floor of the Breakwater Motel and woke every morning to a beautiful view of the Bay. The suite was spacious, very comfortable with a real comfy bed and a large tiled bathroom(shower) and plenty of space in the lounge/dining room/kitchen area. The room was efficiently...
