We booked by phone just 3hrs before arriving, and received excellent directions, and a really warm welcome from both Sheila and Norm. Magnificent views over Paihia Bay towards Russell; a spotless, very well appointed apartment, with large patio and table for breakfast while taking in those views; helpful advice and booking of trips (dolphin watching/hole in the rock, and 90...

We stayed at many motels during our travels throughout New Zealand but this one wins hands down. A little bit out of town so your own transport is required but the magnificent views from the rooms across the bay towards Russell more than compensate for that. The owners, Norm & Sheila couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. They provide...

Our family spent two nights at Cook’s Lookout Motel and enjoyed every minute of it. The views are magnificent and the rooms are clean and well furnished with all necessary appliances to make it a very comfortable stay. The Motel is situated a few minutes out of Paihia which is ideal, there is no noise whatsoever and their non-smoking policy...

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Cook's Lookout Motel for 2 nights. It's a little bit out of Paihia (only a couple of minutes by car), but not so far as to be an issue at all. In fact, being out of Paihia, and a little further up the hill means that this place has an excellent view of...

We enjoyed our stay at Cooks Lookout with our group of 5, including a toddler, a baby and Nanna. Views spectacular and toddler loved the trampoline, but highlight was wonderful service from hosts, which included useful tourist tips, flexibility when our booking varied, and topped off by them voluntarily bringing our laundry in when it rained while we were out...

There is not much else to be said that hasn't been said already - Our visit to Paihia was the perfect way to end our holiday and our stay at Cook's Lookout Motel was lovely. We had two cold, rainy days but Norm assures me the water is crystal blue on a sunny day and that the tourist photos of...

I stayed here on business - deviating from my normal accomodation choices for once. It was totally worth it. I was doing business in the Northland region and Paihia was a good 'in between' place to stay. Norm looked after me well during my stay - full of interesting stories and always available to help if you need anything. The...

We had a great stay here at Cooks Lookout - the location is close to Paihia centre (you would need to drive, but just a couple of minutes) - the views are unbelievable and the hosts Norm and Shiela are so friendly and helpful from making sure you have everything you need for your stay, to giving great tips for...
