One of, if not my favourite YHA in NZ. Friendly, helpful staff who are always around to help with any queries. Clean and spacious en suite rooms, great kitchen and dining facilities and an awesome lounge with a resident guitar (a great touch). Perfect location, plenty of bars and restaurants a short walk and only a 5-10min walk from the...

I stayed in a female share dorm Dec 2015 for a few days. The room also had a small desk and luggage bay. The management are such nice people, warm and considerate, helpful on every level. They grow rows of 3 types of lettuce & some herbs on the communal patio outside for guests to pick fresh for free. The...

When I first arrived to this hostel, I was surprised about the warm "family" environment. The owners live in the place, they take care of it as most of us with ours homes, and they treat you like family too. It has a great location: close enough to the bars if you want to party, and at the same time...

The hostel is close to the water and other hostels which is nice because there are always people milling around the area! The rooms are super cramped with the beds and dark too which makes them feel dirty even if they actually aren't. There is one bathroom en suite to the room which isn't great because if there is someone...

Yes, it's very friendly, and yes, it's got a good, well equipped kitchen. Best of all it's even got a herb garden where you can help yourself. But we booked, and had confirmed a twin en-suite private. It wasn't a twin but a double, and it wasn't private it was shared with one other couple. If this is the case,...

good price, great atmosphere, free wifi!! It includes free Wifi and we vere two persons in a 4 dorm room for 27$ pr night. Every room has it's own bathroom, which was nice and clean. They have a lot of outdoor tables right outside the little kitchen, and because of the good weather, that's what you always want! There is...

Very happy with our stay at this hostel. Cosy environment and amazing staff. Kitchen, rooms and lounge areas were clean and nice to spend time in. Loved that they had free wifi as well. You were able to eat/hang around inside but also outside. It was maybe a 7 minute walk to the center of Paihia (supermarkets, travel center, bus...

I stayed in a 4 bedroom female dorm. It is in a great location, close to the beach, bus station and wharf. The staff were super friendly and welcoming and helpful. The layout feels a bit cramped and the lounge and outdoor area is busier in the evenings. The kitchen is the area that felt most cramped. It is very...

Our family of four travels the world as, the Four Homeless Millionaires. Over the years we've stayed at lots of hostels cause we love meeting other travellers and having the opportunity to cook for ourselves. This YHA had everything we look for in a hostel, cheap, clean, quiet & safe. Four bunk beds and private bath in our room. Location...
