Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a lovely hotel. We stayed in the more modern side in a really nice front facing room. Nice kitchenette with everything we needed. In reception Perez made us feel very welcome. It is a bit of a walk into Napier town centre, but this was very pleasant along the water front. The area has a wonderful vibe about it, nice and quiet, but there are cafes and shops. The Hotel has on site parking.

Such a great hotel by the beach, the room we ended up with (which I will explain shortly) was very clean, staff were great and very helpful. The hotel has a few restuarants close by, and Napier city centre is just a few minutes drive down the road. The best advice we can give if you book this hotel book directly with them do not book via Beds On Line. Even though we booked our trip through a travel agent she used Expedia, and beds online for our accommodation while traveling in NZ. We go to check in and thankfully we had the paperwork that showed we had booked the Heritage Room, their system had us booked in an ocean view room. What we discovered is the Heritage room had been double booked. I was then offered either room, I did originally then take the Heritage Room, but when we got in there the room was not at all the way it is described on their website, and I did tell them this. They were then happy to move me back to the Ocean View Room. I did pay more for the Heritage Room, and the lady who checked us in was seeing what she could do, but as we had booked it through beds online there was only so much she could do. We were offered a rate which I had in writing, which was amazing, we told our travel agent, however Beds online did not honour it and took our money. It was a substantial amount as well. Beds online not only double booked our room, but also profited from doing so - beware of Beds online. Even though we paid more for the room, it was a great room very clean and tidy, had a good view of the ocean with a balcony. Few restaurants close by, which all were nice.

This hotel is situated near to the beach front. The room we stayed in was a one bedroom room which had a living room / kitchen area with a separate bedroom and shower. The room was modern and cleaned to a high standard. It had zircon, coffee making facilities dishwasher and a balcony. The hotel itself was spread over several blocks with access to each via a key card, there is parking if you have a car and the hotel is central to the marina and the coastal side. The inly negatives for us was the gym was very small and there were no laundry facilities. Overall a fantastic stay with brilliant staff.

Lovely spotless rooms. Great helpful staff. First impressions make such a difference and Perez could not have been more helpful and welcoming answering all questions with such friendliness and humour. Shane also went out of his way to find us after we had accidentally wet the bathroom floor with the shower positioned incorrectly. I can honestly say that the staff here make all the difference. A great place to stay in Napier with super helpful staff. I can honestly say Perez was the most brilliant receptions.

We spent only one night. The balcony view is lovely. We couldn’t use it because it rained. The bed is very comfortable. The hotel is close to some shops and restaurants along the wharf. We had a B+B package, so a portion of the breakfast was free.

Couldn't fault this place. Fast and friendly check in, plentiful undercover parking, clean and spacious room with an amazing bathroom, great location and the free washing machine facilities were a bonus. Lovely village location away from the main city but within walking distance to small shops and cafes. One of the best stays on our recent NZ trip. Definitely recommend.

Beautiful hotel, views, room, mini bar contents, beach nearby, lively area for shops and restaurants. Owners were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The architecture is clean, deco in character. Parking on site is plentiful. The nearby boardwalk is great for morning runs and sea swimming is an easy option.

August 2023 - Three night stay to explore Napier/Hawkes Bay Area. Very comfortable hotel close to dining options. We had a studio room in the historic building wing. Large room, comfortable and very clean with bath amenities and a mini fridge/coffee kettle. Not really a self cater type kitchen but plenty of dining options walkable from the hotel. Nice separate seating area to relax and a proper writing desk. Bathroom was very modern for an older building. The area was really quiet for sleeping quality. Nice storage options in room. Loved the older building atmosphere, even had small balconies overlooking the street. On site secure parking and complimentary laundry facility. Staff was very friendly and provided decent tips for all things local. Napier is a nice area to explore and I'd recommend the Art Deco Walking Tour to fully appreciate the area history and architecture. Napier CDB proper is a five minute drive and the area has many cellar doors. Nice hotel - only downside was the heating unit operation was difficult to master. Still worthy of a positive recommendation.

Loved our stay here :-) We were greeted with a warm welcome in reception. I had booked directly through the hotel website contact page. I recommend this. The response time was good and they were helpful with my questions. I requested a twin room with ocean view and balcony and was not disappointed! The room was spacious, modern and very clean. The balcony had table and chairs and was opposite the beach. There was always something interesting to see. The Hotel has free parking and is conveniently located to restaurants, shopping and a cute little movie theater right next door. Can’t wait to return
