We walked in off the street needing a 2 bedroom room, but a 1 bedroom would have done as we were exhausted after a long trip on our motorbikes. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We were given the last 2 bedroom suite at nearly half the price and offered to have our bikes put in the owners garage to keep them safe. We were so relieved as this was the first place we'd tried on our "winging it" holiday. Yes it's a bit outdated, but cleanliness and comfort of the beds is paramount in our book plus the added extra of a beautiful view. We had one of the best sleeps on our whole trip here. Very handy to eateries as having bikes we had to walk. We'd definitely stay again.

Fairly modern with most rooms facing the sea with balconies. Large room with lounge, bedroom area with large bed, kitchen and dining table. Bathroom with spa bath and plenty of towels and toiletries. Kitchen area has hob, microwave, kettle, electric frying pan and fridge. Internet speed was reasonable @ 39Mbps / 14 average. Warning, if you get rooms 5, 6, or 7 ground floor rooms, the balconies are connected and open to the side, and we had constant traffic from the other rooms rather than exiting / entering via their front doors, removing our privacy. These rooms also don't have balcony furniture. The location is perfect as you are right on the front and close to town too.

A simple motel as are most on Marine Parade, with great views and is ocean front. Stayed 3 nights in a spacious studio sea view king room at the end of the hall (room #9) and had a very pleasant stay. The room had a spa tub, small kitchenette that was very clean and a balcony. The bed was soft which initially was a concern but was surprisingly very comfortable. The bathroom had a separate shower and was very clean. Friendly housekeeping staff and very thorough. Parking was easy and if the parking lot is full, there was always street parking behind the motel. Wi Fi signal was very good and the air conditioning worked well. There is no elevator so luggage does have to be carried up the stairs if that is a concern.

We stayed for two nights. On arrival our heat pump was not working, I called reception and she said someone would be out to look at it tomorrow or the following week, the wall heater didn’t work either so we were given a fan heater that stunk like it was on fire and so loud that we couldn’t use it so we froze all weekend. The reception was closed all weekend and had to go to the neighbouring motel if we needed anything. Our room was not serviced at all while we stayed which meant I had to go searching for fresh towels next door and was told they are too short staffed to service and have a reception open. Not helpful at all. On our last night the drain to the spa stunk out our room so we have to cover with towels as surprise the reception was still shut and our calls went unanswered. On check out reception was still shut so had to check out at the motel next door and they weren’t helpful at all and said management would ring and it’s been 4 day’s with no contact, not even a reply to my email. What they say they supply they don’t. Terrible service and will not return. Avoid room 22 - looking at other reviews heat pumps weren’t working also and wondering if it’s the same room and they say they will get it fixed but do not.

Had booked one night here in a 2 bedroom room. On arrival, found room to be filthy. Had to wipe down bench as had white powder all over it. Inside of windows had smeared hand prints on them, both in lounge and in bedrooms, as if children with grubby hands had been playing in room. Switches and door handles were dirty, net curtains were moldy, wiped spilt coffee from drawer tops and kitchen floor was very sticky. Carpet stained. Bathroom door had begun to rotted. Most flat surfaces covered in dust and fly poo. Microwave door smeared with who knows what. All of this in the middle of the Covid 19 Pandemic. My elderly mother, who I had with me, felt too unsafe health wise to stay in this filth. No we did not ask for another room as my mother was too upset and didn't want to risk seeing another room likely to be just as unclean. Really disappointed after spending $198 on the room. We left and will never ever return to this motel. Just foul and inexcusable during this time when cleaning needs to be of an extra high standard.

My wife and I and our two daughters spent 1 night at the Shoreline Motel.
The accommodation was extremely spacious and clean and consisted of 2 separate bedrooms, one with 2 single beds and the other with a large king bed, all of which were extremely comfortable.
Although the bathroom was adequate, it would have been preferable to have a walk-in shower and not a shower in the bath. The large open plan lounge and kitchenette was however very pleasant and convenient.
Our room was across the street from Napier beach and had a lovely view.
Overall, we had a very good 1 night stay and as the Motel is located on Napier’s promenade and only a few minutes’ walk from Napier town, we were able to experience an enjoyable scenic walk, as well as an interesting self-guided Art Deco walk in the limited time that we had.

We've stayed before at Shoreline with no problems. Sadly this stay was extremely disappointing. Our rooms heat pump didn't work. We told reception who informed me that they would get it fixed. The next day still nothing no heat pump in the middle of winter. They gave us a small fan heater but when we started it it sparked everywhere. This was taken to reception and we were given another one. This barely warmed the room and so we were very cold both nights. No electrical had tag and test labels on them. Our bed wasn't remade ready for our second night. The fan in the bathroom didn't work so it ended up being a sauna.
Some major money has to be invested in this motel otherwise it's going to be no better than a back packers. So sad that this motel has been left to rot. Definitely would not recommend a stay here

Rooms were very comfortable and pleasant facing the sea with a beautiful view. While our room was excellent, some of our friends said that their heat pumps were not working for which they supplied them with two small fan heaters. These should have been checked and serviced/repaired when the place was opened to the travellers after the lockdown. For a full house , the service staff was minimal which took almost the end of day for rooms to be serviced.

Spent 2 nights here to attend the Michael Buble concert-great location -close to the sea and walking tracks and city centre for restaurants and bars.
The room was spotless. We could have dont with out the massive in room spa bath-clearly left from a previous era .
Helpful staff who allowed us to store bags for both early arrival and late check out .
Ideal location

Whilst their website claims “elegantly designed” rooms it’s clear to anyone that nothing has been done to the rooms at this property in at least 15 years.

The main problem during our stay was not the dated decor, rather the filthy condition of the room. While nothing was mentioned at check in we entered the room to find a well thumbed piece of paper, that had clearly been there for some time, advising that the rooms wouldn’t be serviced during our stay due to “short staffage”. Not ideal but potentially understandable. However the state of the room indicated that a decent clean had not happened in a very long time. The was mould everywhere in the bathroom (including shower, basin and toilet brush holder) and all of the wooden surfaces in the room were sticky. The carpet was frayed, extensively stained and clearly had not had a decent vacuum in a long time. The linen was frayed and grey with the duvets and pillows well past the end of their useful lives.

The lovely private balcony (with rusted chairs, large glass ashtray and a broken table) was generally unusable due to the pervading smell of cigarette smoke from other peoples decks, in fact you can’t even leave the doors open in the evening as the smoke wafts straight into the room.

Hello Lynn, Thank you for the inquiry. We are renovating the rooms whenever and whenever possible. As we have lots of future bookings, it is difficult for any property to shut down the entire property for renovation. Kind regards, Kiran

Hi. not sure re bikes, but there is a bike hire shop a few hundred metres up the road. It's on marine parade, but I am unsure of its name. Supermarkets, pak n save is the closest and less than 10 min walk.
