We ended our 5 week tour of Australia and New Zealand by choosing to stay someplace special and Sunderland House was that place. It's a beautiful house with beautiful and comfortable bedrooms. Donald and Kathy are wonderful hosts and Ben, their dog, will win your heart. Donald prepares all kinds of beautiful fruits and presents them nicely. He also makes...

built new to look like a turn of the century Auckland villa, Sunderland house is a stunner. Not only is it beautifully decorated but the hosts Donald and his wife are fantasic. From the little touches such as complimentary baked goods and fresh fruit as well as port/wine/coffee/tea all the right boxes are so effortlessly ticked. Situated in Herne bay...

This is a purpose built B&B managed by an extremely genuine and sincere owner, Donald Sunderland.  It is located @4 km from the quays in downtown Auckland, but only 150m from a bus stop with service every 15 minutes to and from the city.  The B&B is very well designed and decorated, using only high quality furnishings and fittings.  Breakfasts...

Sunderland House was the first stop on our honeymoon to NZ. What a wonderful place! Donald is great to chat with and makes you feel very welcome. The rooms are all decorated with such taste and style. It was all the little things and finishing touches that really impressed, such as the delicious homemade treats, port & chocolates at our...

I booked Sunderland cos of their #1 ranking and the pretty pictures of the premier room which comes with a foot-claw bathtub but we(family of 4) were pleasantly surprised and overwhelmed by the treats from Donald – cakes in the afternoon, cookies in the evening and muffins during breakfast – all home-baked by him. We were delighted when Donald packed...

We arrived on Nov 8 at Sunderland House, the beginning of a very special trip because we treated us for our 25th wedding anniversary with a voyage to New Zealand and Australia. After a long flight from Canada we felt warmly welcomed right away. There was this little sign standing in the corner of the door with our and other...
