The kitchen is well equipped, and the bathrooms are clean, even if there could be more of them. Rooms have lockers with power points in them too, which is good. However, this is probably the worst YHA I have stayed in, either in NZ or Australia. I stayed here at the beginning and end of 2 months in NZ, and...

Nice place to stay - friendly stuff :) It is near the city center (5min). It is clean and they have enough space so you can also be for your own (if you want to of course ;-) ) for people travelling alone and do not need to have luxurios rooms, I totally recommend it!

On our first family visit to Auckland YHA was the right choice for first hand experience. Great place, very friendly staff specially Venk who works night shifts. Thanks mate for all your help for settling us down!

Came here for two nights whilst stopping in Auckland temporarily. It's a decent hostel and all the facilities are good, there is a standard YHA Asian/elder crowd which makes the atmosphere a bit flat, and there's also a guy on reception who has no idea what he's doing haha

Overall cleanliness of the hostel was good. Staff were helpful and friendly as well. However, the place lacked a sense of 'welcome'. The kitchen felt like a school canteen and everyone was in their own world. Free wifi but always patchy - felt as if it was better without.

So myself and partner were awake super early due to jet lag, it's our first morning at the hostel so we were just looking at leaflets and trips and suddenly this kind man called venk who was manning the front desk asked if we needed any help. 45 minutes later we are full of knowledge and reassurance and that is...

I have stayed at several YHA hostels and have really enjoyed each one. This one is clean, the staff very friendly the bed comfortable and a very nice kitchen. The TV rooms are nice and have comfortable chairs. My stay was over Halloween and the hostel showed three Halloween movies and had free popcorn. There is a nice board with...

Thank you for your feedback and it is an idea we will look into with respect to the toilet brushes, we just can't guarantee they'll be used... Steve, Area Manager

Friendly staff, very nice kitchen area, good showers. Bathrooms: spacious but the floors were always wet, the cleaners didn't emptied the trashcan not even once during the 4 nights of my stay. Bedrooms: the worst mattress I've ever slept on. We had to sleep with the windows open because the smell in the morning is horrible if you keep it...

Thanks for your feedback. The washrooms are serviced 3 times a day. As they are open 24 hours a day and are used throughout that time there will be times between the servicing where they are not at their best. We are also replacing the older style beds in the next week. Thanks again and we do hope you will...
