This place was chosen for us and I was worried as had read the reviews about the noise - but I should not have worried - it was excellent from the moment we arrived. We arrived really early and were just going to leave our bags before our meetings but the kind staff found a room so we could check in straight away. Also - I am on crutches so they changed our reservation so it included a step in shower rather than one over the bath - this was so good - as we had not requested this . There is a ramp to the hotel and this room was good for people with limited mobility. Room included hob, oven, microwave, washing machine and dryer - we didn't use any of these as only here one night but would be good if staying longer. It had a great coffee machine -used that. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant but as it is in the Viaduct there is plenty to wander to all on the doorstep - we recommend the Giraffe! Our room was quiet - I was worried re this but our room was so quiet - I think the noise others talk about is in the viaduct view rooms - we had a car park view room and didn't hear anything. - would really recommend it - don't need the view as you just wander down to the viaduct for meals and drinks and you have the view! The bed was comfy, amenities good. Only negative is it had a mini bar menu which I normally don't use but was back early so thought I might snack - but to use this you have to ring and order it - - it is not in the room. This was enough for me to decide not to, so maybe this is a positive! Also for some reason the door to the washing machine closet is hung the wrong way so if you want to use it , it could be awkward. But overall this was a great hotel in the perfect location (450m to ferries and close to shopping and right on the Viaduct ) and we would be back - if we can afford it.

Hotel's Favourite
This hotel is positioned so beautifully above the Viaduct Basin in Auckland. We have not stayed in all the marina / harbour view rooms but I am pretty sure they would all have the same stunning views. The staff are always courteous, the rooms are spotless. Perhaps slightly tired, but still lovely. Priced well for a central city property. We always enjoy our morning cup of coffee on the balcony looking at the activity in the basin below and the harbour beyond. At night the Harbour Bridge is lovely all lit up. There does not seem to be an option for room service breakfast on their menu - this would be a welcome addition. Also, a few more guest car parks would be really helpful Great Job team - keep it up.

Despite the lovely view from our Harbour View room, the room itself was dreadful. There were scuff marks and chips out of the skirting boards, shabby and uncomfortable furniture, a huge rip in the lining of one of the curtains in the bedroom. The safe didn,t work , it did initially but I opened it and it would not lock again, came up with 5555 reported it, man came said it was the batteries went away to get some , replaced them and yes it worked, until I opened it again !!!! gave up !!!!! The bathroom was a safety hazzard and the kitchen had drawers you could not open unless the cupboard the other side was opened, the fridge was really old and overhead cupboards were ridiculous and awkward. No one told us about the noise from all the bars and restaurants right underneath us, we were on the 3rd floor right above the Fox Pub, it was horrendous, we could not get any sleep, it wasnt only Friday and Saturday it was every night !!!!! We paid a lot of money for our upgraded room in , as advertised , a 4 star Hotel. There is nothing 4 star about it. I would advise anyone looking to stay here to be aware of the noise and the state of the rooms, it seriously needs renovation. We were seriously disappointed and felt totally ripped off

Stunning Sebel The most stunning thing about the Sebel Viaduct was the viaduct views and the lobby. The actual room was clean and comfortable. But dated. The bathroom needs a reno as was very shabby with paint chipped off the furnishing. The shower was good in the pressure. The room had a little kitchenette which was quite handy. The bed was comfy. The blackout curtains were good. The door was very noisy and I didn’t get a good sleep. Every time someone on the same floor returned to their room and closed their door, the door to my room would shake in its hinges. It made me feel as though someone was trying to open my door. I wouldn’t return here to stay.

This is the third time we have stayed here, the hotel and location is fantastic, unfortunately one of the bars below the hotel has a regular band which they didn't have during our previous visits, and they play until 1 am on a Friday and Saturday night. GRRR. other than that it was good.

Convenient hotel with good service let down by excessively loud nightclub nearby! We stayed here for a few nights on a quick weekend away to explore Auckland. We chose this hotel based of its location, being near plentiful shops, restaurants and of course the lovely Auckland marina. We were certainly spoilt for choice in dining options. The nearby restaurant ‘Giraffe’ even offers room-service. Their desserts were scrumptious! If you like shopping, the Queen St boutiques are a easy walk. There is a nearby grocery store about 5mins walk for any snacks and essentials. The studio rooms were very spacious. They offered a kitchenette, laundry, cutlery, glassware and a proper coffee machine. The bathroom was quite large and plenty of place to store things. The bed was somewhat comfortable. Now, I’d like to say there were no negatives to this stay but unfortunately there was one huge letdown: the horrendously loud nightclub that LITERALLY made our room vibrate from the noise until the early morning. Zero sleep. Thumping noise Friday and again on Saturday. Neither of us got a wink of sleep. This really, really should be brought to guests attention on the hotel website or at least at check-in. We would have asked to switch to a nearby Accor hotel if we knew it would be this loud. The reception staff are pleasant and polite in their interactions with guests but I would recommend giving guests the heads-up re: noise. Otherwise, the hotel would be a good stay if you avoid the weekend.

The BEST location! $$$$ Eateries at Viaduct, but $ and $$ in walking distance for nights you just want a quick meal. Wish the Sebel had a restaurant attached to the hotel. That was probably the only thing we can criticize. Management at reception were great, especially Natesh he was so helpful and courteous

Despite the room having a lovely view we were kept awake all night with the band playing in the pub directly below. Yelling and yahooing from patrons partying. Wish we had of read the reviews before booking!!!!! We complained after the first night and were moved from the 2nd floor to the 5th floor which made no difference to the noise at all. Furniture is tired looking and rooms could do with renovating. Staff were helpful kind and sympathetic of noise situation. It would be good if the council reviewed the licensing for the surrounding motels sake.

Stayed in a marina King Suite. 2x nights of no sleep thanks to the band playing downstairs until 3am with their venue wide open. No warning of this on their website or would have stayed elsewhere. Ear plugs the second night did not help. Hotel itself was fine if you aren't planning on sleeping. Never again.

Standard check in, good size room. No parking available so had to park offsite in a nearby parking lot. Excessive noise from the downstairs pub - loud live music until 0100hrs, followed by a further 2 hours of loud club music with poor karaoke offered by the pubs patrons. Was expecting a harbour side room to be quiet - I was wrong. Would not recommend unless you intend to be out at the pub until 3am anyway!
