We stayed one night post-cruise. Was refused an early check-in despite the fact that Azamara dropped us off at 8:00AM and I had asked the hotel directly beforehand. Desk clerk promised to call my cell phone when a room became available but he never did so we came back at 3:00

Kia ora, Thank you very much for sharing your experience. We are sorry to read that your experience was so-so. The check-in time is 3pm indeed. For you to have the room available from 8am, you would have had to book from the night before, or alternatively to book an early Check-in from 10am. We invite you indeed to contact your agent if it was not what you were expecting. We always do our best to have the room ready prior to 3pm but on this occasion I am afraid that despite our efforts we could have your room ready only from 3pm this is why we could not call you and that your luggage were brought after you checked-in . Alternatively, you can book the room for the night of the 25th December to take advantage of your room immediately when you arrive in the morning.
