About
Auckland is a city that thrives on contrasts. Here, sleek skyscrapers rise beside ancient volcanic cones, and the vibrant urban energy of the city is tempered by the lapping waters of Waitemata Harbour.
Located in a prime location on Queen Street in the CBD, the Adina Citylife Auckland puts you in the thick of the action.
The hotel is a short stroll to the city’s best restaurants, bars, and attractions like the Sky Tower and bustling waterfront, and a welcome haven after exploring nearby Waiheke Island or Mission Bay.
Two Penthouse Suites offer spectacular views over the city, whilst interconnecting hotel rooms – with spacious lounge, dining and kitchen living – and a saltwater pool and gym, allow the flexibility to holiday with the comforts of home.

This is a high-rise hotel with maybe a dozen rooms per floor. Sadly there isn't much of a view. The rooms themselves are large in our case with a separate bedroom, living room, kitchenette and in-room laundry. Ideal for a long stay.
The front desk was very helpful during our stay but we found the hotel restaurant to be a little pricey and service to be a little slow. Some people would find the location to be a little questionable. For our purposes, our first two nights in Auckland, this hotel was fine.
The dryer seemed to not stay on , possibly clogged somewhere after hose (hose & lint trap were clear), but still nice to be able to do wash.
We ate dinner in hotel restaurant and weren’t impressed. Chicken was a bit fatty with skin on it and risotto was grainier than should be and the price wasn’t worth what we got.
Even with the dryer & meal being subpar, would stay again if in the area.
Always wanted to stay here due to it being smack bang in middle of Queen Street but always been out of my price range.
This time they had a good deal and we booked a twin bed superior room.
When we arrived around 10.30am on Saturday morning, the lovely man at reception told us we could access our room straight away which was an unexpected bonus.
We had a room facing Durham Street, side street off Queen Street, so probably a little quieter than if we were facing Queen St. Didn't get much sun though.
Room was very clean. It turned out to be a connecting room with a 1-bedroom apartment next door as the connecting door had been left open. So we took the opportunity to have a quick explore of that room. Liked what we saw with the lounge/kitchen area and double bedroom so if we were to visit again with more family members now we know they have a 2bedroom apartment which would suit us well.
Back to our room. It was a good size, not very many channels to choose from on TV, but we weren't in the room much. Good sized bathroom with good shower and plenty of towels on heated towel rail.
Unfortunately we had rowdy neighbours who were still talking loudly at 4.45am but that is not hotels fault.
Beds were very comfortable so did manage to sleep.
Would definitely stay here again as within walking distance of so much we come to Auckland for.
The restaurant was closed due to Covid but they had a 15% discount offer at nearby Coffee Club cafe, though we did not have time to take them up on this.
Rooms and beds were excellent and comfortable but be sure to ask what room you are getting as some floors are still being refurbished. We didn’t use the restaurant/bar as we were always out but it looked lovely.
Room service was prompt and breakfast more than adequate for a full day out. The hotel is less than a 15 min walk from the centre of the business district and the Sky Tower which the photo below shows was close by (taken from our room). Ferries to Waiheke island, Devenport and other areas all leave from the end of Queen Street so again fantastic location.
Staff were probably the most chilled and friendly I’ve ever met but still efficient.
Definitely one I would recommend to friends and family👍
Very convenient place to stay, lots of places to walk to. Rooms were nice and there was even a hotel gym (even tho I did not make use of it this time around lol).
Both rooms we had were nice. The executive suite was of course larger but both were a nice size for our family of 3. Both rooms had a washer and drier which was awesome so you don't have to pack as much clothes for your trip. There was even a pack of detergent for 1 load of clothes.
Staff was very friendly and even held our bags day we checked out since our flight was so late at night. They were also able to arrange for a shuttle service to and from the airport. You pay the shuttle driver (it was $45 for 3 of us today). Prices for the hotel were pretty good too, we would definitely stay here again if we were in the Auckland area!
