Booked for 1 night via booking.com, the hotel advertised scenic city views and a bath so we booked, on arrival to our room we noticed there was no bath with a view of an industrial style ar con system with pipes everywhere with another hotel overlooking us, my partner phoned reception who told us there was no rooms with a bath available. The room itself is clean and spacious but the blinds on the bedroom windows aren't long enough for the windows. I dont think I'll be visiting this hotel again as I like to get what I pay for.

We had a 4 night stay here. Our room was spacious and the bed comfortable. Overall the room was pretty good but the numerous very long roman blinds that didn't want to pull up straight were really frustrating - a bit shabby and a pain to use. Breakfast was included in the price of the room and turned out to be a full cooked buffet. The food was nice and they were happy to cook scrambled eggs for me which were not part of the buffet. Friends joined us at the President for a one night stay and were also very happy with the cost and experience. Good location, just a block down for the Sky Tower and a short walk to the waterfront.

An excellently situated hotel in the central city. Very clean and tidy with comfortable bed and a good breakfast. Would stay here again when spending a night in the city. We had a room on the sixth floor that overlooked Victoria Street.

Had 4 nites here. Excellent value. Friendly staff and good service. Room was a large King Size bed and a lounge. Downside was that there was only a small double sofa in the lounge for such a large room. Our 2 friends who came to visit didn’t have a place to sit. Cooked breakfast was a bonus but there was no change in the menu every day.. not very imaginative and no fresh fruits in summer. The small sausages were deep fried instead of being cooked on a hot plate and bacon sat in a bed of oil. Finally learnt to have poached eggs on toast most days. Still excellent value of money and location was great.. Will recommend and will stay again.

Bit of a mixed bag this place. The good. The location and proximity to everything in the central city is excellent. The reception staff were very attentive and helpful. The breakfast was good and the staff were very skilled at keeping it all moving in a fairly small venue. The room rate is cheep compared to other hotels in this vicinity. The average. The hotel itself has seen better days and could do with a refresh, but I guess this is reflected in the room rate. The window latch in our room didn't secure the window properly in place and being a Saturday night there was a lot of street noise and music from nearby bars etc that went well into the early hours. There was also quite a bit of noise within the hotel in the early hours from other guests returning to their rooms after a night on the town. In summary if you are looking for a cheap hotel in the city centre, don't mind staying in a place that's dated (but clean), and you are a heavy sleeper (or can sleep with earplugs). This place is for you.
