Travelodge Hotel Auckland Wynyard Quarter is positioned in the middle of the action in the fast-developing Wynyard Quarter precinct, close to the Waitemata Harbour at the western edge of the Auckland waterfront. Auckland is the perfect destination for travellers looking to get out into nature, as the city’s position between two large harbours ensures that adventure is always nearby. Rent a yacht from Viaduct Harbour, visit picturesque black sand beaches, native rainforest, local vineyards, and the many beautiful viewpoints to discover across Auckland, formed by volcanic activity in the area many years ago. If you can’t get enough of the amazing views, the famous Sky Tower that looms over the CBD will give you extensive views of all that there is to discover during your time in this magical city.

Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Travelodge Hotel Auckland Wynyard Quarter is often commended by many travelers for its exceptional cleanliness, with guests highlighting the pristine condition of rooms and public areas. Its prime location garners praise for offering easy access to nearby shops and the waterfront, enhancing the stay with picturesque city views. Guests appreciate the well-equipped rooms and the hotel's convenient amenities, although some find the rooms on the smaller side.
The service is generally lauded for its friendliness and efficiency, yet there have been occasional hiccups with room service and check-ins. While the hotel is considered to offer good value, a few travelers suggest that parking costs could be lower and solo traveler discounts would be welcome.

We found the location close enough to the CBD to walk, but far enough away to not be bothered by the city.
Our room was comfortable but we did find we were quite close to a fire escape that had a door that kept banging in the high winds and woke us a few times on our first night.
The view of the city skyline and skytower was fantastic!

I stayed at the Travelodge Auckland Wynard for two nights in February. The location was excellent and is within walking distance of the Skytower, Viaduct Harbour, and Weta Workshop. There are a ton of restaurants off of Jellicoe Street (A few streets to your north). There is also a grocery store on the corner of the same block although it does close fairly early (7ish?).
As for the hotel room. Their informational page describes it as “refreshingly simple.” I definitely agree with that. There really isn’t anything fancy about the room itself in terms of decorations (there are none) or furniture. It’s pretty basic, but for me it has what I wanted – comfy, clean bed, safe, refrigerator, hair dryer free wifi, and bonus – it has great water pressure.
The only exception is the parking situation isn't great if you have a rental car. Wynyard Carpark is on the same block, which is a very convenient location, but it’s expensive. At the time of writing this review, they charge $5 for 30 minutes with a maximum of $45 NZD per day and a lost ticket fee is $75. There is street parking nearby which is free during certain hours.

I stayed at the Travelodge in Auckland for 3 nights in February 2024. My room was clean and well-equipped (kettle, fridge, safe, ironing board, etc) and the location was fantastic, just a block from the start of the wharf area. There's a nice grocery store next door and lots of restaurants nearby. They have a bag storage room and the restroom off the lobby is actually a full shower room, very helpful to change before a flight after checking out and then walking all day.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The hotel offers room service only after 3 nights. This is not enough since the bins are very small and the glasses or cups you use are not changed. We asked for room service after 2 nights, the receptionist had noted our request and no one came to the room. We asked again the next day after 3 nights and again, same scenario, the attendant noted, but we received no service to the room. We had to ask the evening attendant the 4th evening to provide us with clean towels and glasses. This is unacceptable. In addition, the hotel does not offer any discount to their guest for parking unlike the Travelodge in Hurstville, Sydney. Please note that indoor parking costs $54 per day. You can park on the street, but space is limited.

A great place to stay, walking distance to the Viaduct and downtown, so close to restaurants & shopping. Next door is a supermarket which was very handy indeed for misc purchases of food & alcohol. Nice quiet area but so close to all the action. Comfortable beds, slept well, we also had water views from our room on the 4th floor. Adjoining cafe has excellent food & coffee open to hotel guests and the public, you can pay for breakfast at the cafe or pre-purchase vouchers through the hotel. When we arrived in Auckland we caught the bus from the airport which stops at Sky Tower and then walked to Travelodge approx 10-15min (we only had carry-on luggage). We attended a concert at Eden Park and walked along the waterfront to catch the free concert bus to & from the venue, easy peasy. We will definitely stay again at the Travelodge Wynyard Quarter. Good value for money.

My time in Auckland was short but having stayed at Wynyard was excellent choice as I used to live at the location and so choosing the Travelodge was a no brainer. Walking into the city was a delight going around the water. Only thing was the bridge was up for maintenance so made walking into the city was a bit longer, lucky the weather was warm and sunny for end of March.

This hotel is new, in a great location, is reasonably priced and generally hits the standard of other Travelodges we have stayed at in the UK.
But there is a suggestion of meanness associated with this chain. Book a room for two people and although there is room for two chairs, you only get one. Someone has to use the bed as a chair. Tea and coffee provided but housekeeping carefully ensure that you only get two cups per day. This is 2021 and you have to pay for wifi. Really? OK - you get one day for free and after that it is $10 per day.
Penny pinching detracted from what would otherwise have merited the five stars that most other reviewers give this hotel.

Dear John, While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it’s apparent in this case that we fell short. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a great experience with us in the future. Best Regards, Travelodge Team Auckland

We only stayed one night Sunday Night they offer a special on that night half price check it out.
The location is only 2 block from waterfront and restaurants we got an upgrade to the 6th floor so great city views and some harbour views.
Parking is available nest door in parking station but you have to pay, the hotel offers a special of $45 a day but you need to do this before your stay

This Hotel initially looks great, however when the manager checks you in and says we don't clean your room until day 3, you begin to question, what the! So when day 4 arrived, my rubbish bins full, towels damp for
past 3 days, room smelling musty, reception called asking to please service and 2hours later (now 4pm day 4)
still no room service you can imagine why I walked to reception to give them my full rubbish bin and towels.

I stayed in this hotel for two weeks during a business trip. My room was tiny and cozy with all the necessary comforts. However, the lack of a desk in the room was a problem as I needed to work on my laptop. Breakfast is available at the nearby cafeteria, offering a variety of sweet and savory options (you can choose one of them with a drink). The hotel’s strategic location makes it easy to reach almost everything in the downtown area.
